Unlocked my Sony

Just to say, Serviio has unlocked my Sony! What I mean is, I have the 2009 model, so its not 'SMART' at all, I look at my friends buying new Samsung TVs among others, and they have youtube, and the ability to stream video over the net and from their servers, the Sony, out of the box can just about can tell you the weather. We were switching it on and heading straight for HDMI in, either for Freesat, or Blueray (sony as well, equally dumb, no DLNA support) using the screen as a monitor.
Now with Serviio I can stream my DVD collection, music videos I have collected and stream live radio and content all from my remote control, no messing about connecting laptops to TV etc etc. Love it. And the transcoding works well, and it needs to; my TV seems to support very little apart from Mpeg2, it does come up AVC on some video files, but Serviio still transcodes so not sure what is going on there.

Am going to post a couple of questions, but they are advice really, I want to convert my DVD's to a format that Serviio won't need to transcode so want to know the best format, and what the best way to do that, does anyone bother to keep the DVD menus, or just have the main movie etc etc.

I am happy to make a donation for this software its well worth it, shame the donate link has gone.
