There were some ticket opened about this :

Could you compare with MediaInfo tool two FLAC file, one work with the other not work?

Re: Compatible devices list

{EDIT 12/30/2011} Changed to "DirecTV-HD DVR" profile and transcoding of .MOV / .FLV / .WMV / .MPEG / .AVI / .M4V now working great!

Up-and-running Serviio 0.6.0.1 on MAC Pro 3,1 / OSX Lion 10.7.2 with:

Panasonic TX-P54Z1 - Viera MediaServer Firmware 2.403 (DLNA certificate Media: Video & Images only)

and PS3 - Firmware 4.0

HAPPY TO HAVE FOUND SERViiO on the net!!!!!! :D So far so good but still working on the best setup for my gear and UNDERSTANDING how this nice piece of software works

Works (untill now) only with AVI & DVD VOB's so I have to figure out how this transcoding thing works with .MOV / .FLV / .WMV / .MPEG

Greetings and happy holidays!

Works OK on Hi-media H600B mediaplayer (http://www.iboum.com/pr/him600b.php) & Xbox360S. I also tried it out on my laptop using xbmc as the client (the only software uPnP client I could find for winXP), works perfectly. :D

Xbox360 - very limited DLNA support not alot more we can do about that.

H600B - prolly requires a profile making for it to get teh best from the device.

Thanks for the reply, great piece of software :D

I am using the generic DLNA profile (so no transcoding) and it works fine. In fact since I bought the H600B I haven't had a media file that it would not play, it will even play my .rec files from my Topfield PVR without any change (there aren't many software or hardware players that I have found that will play these files without re-encoding them). That said, I'm no video/audio expert, what advantage would a specific profile bring? I'm mainly using servvio for streaming bbc iplayer but I do not get any thumbnails in the H600B but I do on the xbox. No big deal really, the files play OK.

Re: Compatible devices list

Hello...

I realy like, Serviio .. whan i got over to use Windows instead of Linux variant it also worked with the Streams from the TV channels as well like "SVT Play" and so on...

Now whan 0.6.1 has arrived i got some problems to get music streams to work.. but i hope the developers will find a solution in the future..

The device i have is an BlueRay player, .. modell BD-C5500, connected to a Samsung LE40B535.....

I have also tried to use my XBoX 1 variant with XBMC with quite good results as well, but it's to slow to look at HD movies on.. :/, but MP3 music and more simple movies work perfect.....

Re: Compatible devices list

Working good with WDTV live,

and also my samsung galaxy s GT-I9000

I was or am however trying to work out how to get video thumbnails etc or online reviews etc to show up whilst browsing lists.
is this something i have to do on my client? or is this something the server can provide / push to the client.

also running serviio on my quad xeon x3210 with 2 gig ram, runs sweet, plenty of proc free..
have yet to get dabble with transcoding for my samsung (has trouble with mkv) but im sure plenty of grunt there.

Runs faultlessly served via Wi-Fi & NIC from HP nw8440 & HP nx6120 (Win7SP1) to UK Virgin Media Hub (Netgear VMDG289) then via STP Cat6 cable to Panasonic TX-L37E30B (E30 series)

Re: Compatible devices list

Serviio works excellently on my Samsung BD-D5100 blue ray player which displays on my Samsung LN46A HDTV.

Serviio is loaded on my headless 10.10 ubuntu server where my pictures, videos and music is stored on a 500GB raid2. BTW the serviio program along with the server OS is loaded on a 16GB flash card.

I access serviio server via serviio console on my ubuntu 11.04 desktop.

Serviio server sees by other Insignia NS-WBRDVD blue ray player but the player cannot see my server.
