Re: Compatible devices list

I had a problem with my WDTV seeing Serviio at first, but it was because I was running PS3 Media Server at the same time. After I ran it by itself, it worked fine.

Re: Compatible devices list

Sony KDL EX710 (2010), at home.

Everithings works with serviio 1.6, tested on my intel based (2008) laptop with both Ubuntu and Oracle Linux 7 (here you need some extra stuff: to enable epel and nux repo for ffmpeg and to grab libfribidi from nux/retired).
Running Serviio - for several years now - on Debian and Win boxes.

Re: Compatible devices list

Panasonic Bluray bdt-230 player
chromecast
Android phones, chinese android tablet, ipod touch back when that worked.

Serviio works on everything for me. I'm using 1.5 pro still with metadata turned off and its fast and reliable. Only thing that would make it better is more plugins for vaughlive.tv, streamlive.to, etc.

Re: Compatible devices list

I use Google Chrome Cast to cast to my tv since they are not smart. it woks well with the chrome cast no drops if you are running it from the source, If you run it via WLAN you might see delays.

and for the mobile I use a thrid party app to open and cast from my server

Re: Compatible devices list

First of all thanks for this great server. I've tried nearly all of them: MediaTomb, Plex, TwonkyServer, etc., all of them had some issues but I think I've found the ultimate solution... and finally QNAP is officially supported now... :)

Regarding device compatibility I have some problem with my Freecom MusicPal. In the server's settings it doesn't stick to the Playstation 3 profile. Why PS3 profile? I found that profile working with .flac files I have. With PS3 profile Serviio transcodes it to LPCM 48KHz. The problem is: after I restart the Musicpal, the profile always reverts back to Generic DLNA. So .flac files don't show up in list. I have to set it back to PS3, so everything is working again... until the next restart of the player.

I've already tried with other profiles (Toshiba Regza for example, that transcodes flac to mp3), the problem remains, it always reverts back to Generic profile. Other devices (like my TV) doesn't have this problem, it sticks to Samsung H series profile (set it manually because Serviio thought that is was a J series).

Do you have any idea? Thanks.

Re: Compatible devices list

Try assigning a reserved IP to your Freecom device, then assign it to to PS3 profile. It should then be sticky.
If that doesn't work please start a new topic in the Support & Help area.

Re: Compatible devices list

I have a 2016 Sony Bravia KDL48R550C television which works well with Serviio but only using the Sony Bravia TV (2009) Profile.

The device name shows as NFLC SDK v1.5 in the Console status.

I use Serviio with a Pioneer N50 A Network streamer, and find it to be the best server software I've tried. I have notice a big improvement in access times with 1.7

Re: Compatible devices list

I use Serviio on an iMac, with Roku 2 as a client. Since I find no Roku group, I will post my question here. Serviio and the Roku work great, except that I have no capability to fast forward or reverse.

My TV Samsung 48' 4K UE48 HU7500 finds easily Serviio server of my networked W10 PC (1Gb wired ethernet)

I use Profile named "Samsung TV / Player (H-series)"

MKV, TS, MP4 videos are correctly played

I don't use Serviio for Music and Photos

Edit June 17: No change with 1.9 Beta 1

Re: Compatible devices list

My (DVB-T + HDD + BD) Panasonic DMR-BWT 700 finds easily Serviio server 1.8 Pro installed on my networked W10-64 PC (1Gb wired ethernet)

I used fixed IP on the Panasonic device and I chosen the Serviio Profile named "Panasonic BD Player"

MKV, M2TS, TS, VOB, MPG (even DV & HDV) videos are correctly played

AVI and MP4 are not read, but it's not a true problem for me

Re: Compatible devices list

Samsung UN46C6800

Using Serviio Pro 1.7.1.1 The only problem I have is Serviio seems to lose my files list after not using it for a couple of days. Start Serviio on the TV and hit the Videos or Music icon and I get "No video/music files have been loaded", so I have to go to the console on my computer and reload all the drives.
