Simple set of instructions for streaming live TV?

Hi all,

I'm a relative novice to this system, so please do excuse me for being a little dense.

I've installed the Homestream system onto my Sony Vaio laptop, which is now able to connect wirelessly with my Sony Bravia TV (2010, UK model) to watch media from my laptop. I absolutely love the platform, which has worked extremely smoothly so far. So thank you for creating it!

But I'd now like to stream 'live' TV from my laptop to my TV via Homestream (as well as watch the likes of ITV Player, etc). Now, this is the part I'm having trouble with. I know there are instructions on this site for how to do this (ie, with 'plug-ins', RSS, etc), but I'm afraid I haven't been able to understand them. I spent a couple of hours yesterday trying to get things to work (following the info on the wiki page), but had no luck.

By any chance, would someone please be able to prepare a simple set of instructions for those of us with little to no programming knowledge? I'm not sure where/how to place specific files/downloads, so step-by-step instructions (including what supplementary programs I may need) would be very much appreciated. I know how to use the Homestream console to map the files to be streamed, but that's about it!

Thanks very much for your time!

I can't make it more simple than the guide that is already there. Best to start asking questions about what you don't understand.

It was probably a bit confusing becaues Homestream doesn't support online sources, so you wouldn't be able to follow parts of the instructions. Uninstall Homestream and install Serviio 1.0.1, have another go, and if you get stuck please do ask specific questions and we will try to help.
