Hey all

I cannot get my samsung to play 90% of my personally ripped movies..which is a shame

Can you help identify where its going wrong? I have the B series profile selected. Anyway for example:

And one of the none working files



Any help appreciated

This is all new to me but I'm getting to grips with it. So sounds like something in the file isn't triggering transcoding in the profile for the B series. Hmm both files were ripped from bluray and encoded using ripbot264 but it seems the version is slightly different. Any pointers

Looking at the comparison side by side one which caught my eye was the difference between

Does video track is encoded or copied when you rip your movie? what is the software used?
The problem could be also on mp4 container (not only video track).

Do you try to remux your mp4 to a new mp4 container with ffmpeg processor? (something like ffmpeg -i INPUT.mp4 -v:c copy -a:c copy -f mp4 OUTPUT.mp4 )

Rip using AnyDVD HD to raw bluray files.

Use ripbot264 to encode to .mp4 h.264 - I followed the same process for both titles. I'll try to remux and see if that makes a difference. Will I lose quality? Or will it literally just put it in a new container?

Success!

ffmpeg -i video.mp4 -acodec copy -vcodec copy newvideo.mp4

Enables the video to play so it didn't like that library version...so the latest h.264 works!

No lose of quality, simply a new container remuxing...

So, that's confirm that something in the mp4 container is weird. All video/h264 and audio codec are good.

Ok so that one plays - but at the wrong aspect ratio!

The next one I tried didn't play, so I remuxed and it still doesn't play.

Both ripped using exactly the same method

Can't get it to work on the LE40B650

Using Samsung B profile it just doesn't seem to transcode (correctly) so I may just have to install my ps3 downstairs as a workaround

All of the media server software I have tried doesn't work with this damn tv!
