Hardware requirements for transcoding ?

Please forgive me if this is covered elsewhere or point me to a link.

I would like to know if there are any issues with me trying to run transcoding with the following hardware:

HP SFF PC:
Pentium 4 HT
2 Gb DDR Memory
Plenty of disk space (@ 2TB)

Playstation 3:
AUS Spec 120Gb
Wireless Ethernet

Wireless Router:
802.11G

I am going to be transcoding .rmvb files into my the PS3 so that I can watch some anime without impacting on the wifes TV (Brownie Points !!)

This box handles the serving of normal .avi .mkv files via Ethernet/wireless however this is the first time I will be attempting to transcode. So it would be good to know if the machine or the network will be the bottleneck here if any.

Thanks
Dan !

Re: Hardware requirements for transcoding ?

Excellent news !

I just had a quick look around to see if there were any profiles existing in here for PS3 ?

I don't have the SW here at work with me .... does 0.5 have a PS3 pre defined profile ? or Do I need to create a new one ?
