Hello,

I have serviio running on my Synology DS413. Is it possible to have serviio transcode my files to MP4 automatically?

Thanks!

mp4 is not a format that you can transcode to stream straightaway, that's why Serviio don't support it, it simply doesn't work.

The only way you can watch a non-mp4 file is convert it FULLY using third party encoders.

If it's mkv files, you can quickly remux (keeps video intact, changes audio), I use rebox.NET, takes under 30 seconds as your not encoding the video.
If it's a full encode, I use MediaCoder, speed is dependent on your cpu and graphics card.

Hi,

I was hoping to avoid third party actions and let my NAS work for me :)

Let me try rebox.net as it is normally the audio codec my LG TV has trouble with.
If this is really so fast then it would not be so bad after all

Thanks for the tip!
