dxva fffmpeg usage

Hi,

I saw on the web a ffmpeg version built for a program called ipimp that contains dxva (gpu usage).

http://code.google.com/p/ipimp/download ... p&can=2&q=

Is it possible to use/reuse/adjust this version of ffmpeg with serviio, so serviio can benefit from gpu power ?

Kind regards,

Hen

Re: dxva fffmpeg usage

I assume they compiled it with a patch. If someone can find it then it should be no problem (as long as it won't break and work on all OSes)

Hi zip,

dxva is a windows technology, so all platforms will be out of the question.

I have done some test with this and either I don't know the correct command line, or it is not encoding any faster than CPU based.

Re: dxva fffmpeg usage

With ony one thread the transcoding with GPU was about 25% faster. With more cpu cores the difference fades.

Kind regards,
