Codec Pack?

Do we need a codes pack for trancoding? Seems like no. My video is trancoding without the ability to even play the file on my server. Does ffmpeg support trancoding naitively? Seems I may need something for audio.

No codecs needed, FFmpeg includes all what is needed.

What codec do i need in order to put an avi video file into Windows Movie Maker? I'm trying to put Boku no Pico OVAs 1-3 into Windows Movie Maker but I keep getting an error message saying I don't have the right video codec for them. Is there any way I can fix this?
