Re: Passthrough DTS?

I havn't been using serviio long so bare with me.

I am using a PS3 with a tweaked profile to allow me to transcode multichannel aac into ac3 as my receiver doesn't support it.
Added line:

<Matches container="mp4" aCodec="aac" />

Not sure about the video source file used.

OK so it looks like this ?
  Code:

      </Detection>
      <MediaFormatProfiles>
         <MediaFormatProfile mime-type="video/divx">AVI</MediaFormatProfile>
      </MediaFormatProfiles>
      <Transcoding>
         <Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetACodec="ac3">
            <Matches container="matroska" />
            <Matches container="avi" vCodec="h264" />
            <Matches container="mp4" aCodec="aac" />
         </Video>
      </Transcoding>

Please select a file on your library with DTS audio and provide "ffmpeg -i <file>" result.

Re: Passthrough DTS?

Yes, it looks like that. I will provide you the output from that command when I get home from work. Thanks. I do have a number of files with DTS encoding which I have been able to get to play as DTS with PS3 Media Server.

Re: Passthrough DTS?

Didn't seem to work. I get no audio at all. The Ps3 shows no audio streams. I think I actually tried that before I posted and had the same results.

How do I enable detailed logging? Is it just the log file you want me to post?

Is DTS supposed to be supported function?

Re: Passthrough DTS?

We pretty much have the same issue with Sony BDP. It seems to be that FFmpeg cannot remux a dts audio stream without breaking it.
Do the same thing manually with TSmuxer and the resulting file works. I'm going to submit it to the the FFmpeg issue tracker with sample files etc., tonight hopefully.

Re: Passthrough DTS?

Not really...
On the version 0.7_beta1 changelog, you could found:
- IEC 61937 encapsulation for E-AC3, TrueHD, DTS-HD (for HDMI passthrough)

There were also a patch about "non monotone timestamps" error.

But I don't know if remuxing DTS into mpegts issue is solved.
