How do I extract/display subtitles in MKV files on SMP-N100

Hi all:

Even though I have all options in the Subtitle section of the Serviio console checked, it refuses to display subtitles embedded within MKV files. I know that MKV files sent to the Sony SMP-N100 must be transcoded, which works quite nicely, but I still can't get the subtitles to display. Any suggestions?

Re: How do I extract/display subtitles in MKV files on SMP-N

I have a couple of SMP-N200 players, and they can play MKV without transcoding. With those, I can select captions from the player menu, and they don't have to be burned in. Does the -N100 require transcoding for everything?

Also, in the subtitles section of the console, have you added the default language in the box? I've found that to get mine to work, I had to add eng for english.

Actually, I just checked the specs and the -N100 will play MKV files with mpeg4 (AVC) video. The specs don't say, but I would assume it can handle AC3 audio with no problem.
