Samsung UN55MU6290 (UHD TV 6 Series 55")

Hi guys,

I'm pretty new with Serviio and trying to get the subtitles to work for my movies. The rest is working fine.

I see that Serviio is detecting my device, which is a Samsung UN55MU6290 (UHD TV 6 Series 55") as Generic DLNA Profile. Do you guys know if any of the existing profiles in Serviio will solve my problem? (srt subtitles not displaying even though they should since they are correct). The profiles I can see in my Serviio for Samsung are:

Samsung TV (A-Series)
Samsung TV (B-Series)
Samsung TV /player (C/D-Series)
Samsung TV /player (C/D-Series)
Samsung TV /player (E/F-Series)
Samsung TV /player (H-Series)
Samsung TV /player (J-Series)

Or perhaps another non-Samsung profile might work too?

Any help appreciated :D

Best, H

The J-Series profile is the latest one available, so you might try that. I know that I can get some captions on mine, but I can't say if they're from SRT files or the captions embedded in the video.

My JU series is terrible for DLNA playback, so I don't even use the TV apps any longer. I use either a Blu Ray player or Roku instead, and have far better functionality than my Samsung. Now if they've made changes in the newer models, perhaps my issues no longer exist. Honestly I haven't use the Samsung as the player for over a year, so things could have changed.

Hi Dan,

your suggestion worked, the J Series profile was a success :D So now at least we know that that profile works for my TV.

Thanks you very much, appreciated :D
