Need Lots of Help With Transcoding Profile!!

Hey,

I have a Panasonic TV (50V20A) and I need a profile that transcodes (not sure if I need to remux or actually transcode the data) MKV files because my TV doesn't support them. The thing is I don't have a clue how to make a profile but I was hopeing someone here could provide one for me (and I could maybe fill in the blanks if there needs to be specific information for my system).

Can anyone help with this and tell me how to run the profile properly too?

Thanks!

Is there one already available with the program?

sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm really new to this.

Yes, just select it in the console

Awesome! that worked. Thanks!

I'm wondering if using this profile it is remuxing or transcoding because I'm getting choppiness on the MKV's (large files though, each over 4 Gig) and streaming via wireless dongle. Anyway to fix this ? (I already have both cores selected under the transcoding tab).

Also, on the renderer profile tab the device name says unrecognised.

thanks!

It's more likely that the wireless network is the bottleneck here (not useful for HD movies)

Okay thanks, I thought that might be the problem, maybe I'm better off with a cable instead.

Do you know by any chance if that perticular profile is simply re-wrapping the container file or if it's actually transcoding and doing alot more work as a result?

Thanks again for help on this!

It depends on the source file.
