Need some help(basic)

Hello!, so i have tons of videos that some TV's cannot view, so ofc i have to transcode it, originally i figured "right, so write a script that eats all videos of wrong formats and spit them out as one unified format that all TV's can view.
but i remembered serviio having a transcoding tab!, so its time to learn a possibly better way of doing things.

ok, so the TV in question is a philips, so i enabled transcoding and set the ip to have the profile that i found in the system.
no luck!
tried philips 2009 and 2010.
So, here's some data!

Test TV (not sure what model it is exactly but serviio calls it "philips TV DMR")
Test video ( .avi extension, Video= mpeg-4 visual"divx3,low" audio=AC-3)

So, im not a specialist in this but i know some basic stuff.

Basically, i just want it to automatically transcode into readable formats for these poor poor tv's.
how do i do that, and more importantly, what steps did i miss?

Re: Need some help(basic)

It's tough to tell without knowing the TV model number, so let's try something different. Instead of using those old Philips profile, let's try some newer ones. There are newer Sony TV profiles, and the Roku TV profiles are very up to date for those devices. It doesn't matter which one to try, we just need to find something that works at least partially and go from there.
