Serviio video/audio transcoding on QNAP TS-119P II?

Hey guys, couldn't find any replies in several forums (this one and QNAP support) to my question regarding possibility to transcode video/audio on my QNAP TS-119P II (2 GHz ARM CPU).
I have latest Serviio ver. 0.6.0.1 for ARM installed and it functions OK like usual DLNA server.
Recently I launched mkv file on my LG TV and received 'unknown audio codec' message.

I went to Transcoding and changed profile from "Generic DLNA" to "LG TV / player", then I pressed Save.
As a result Serviio refreshed admin page and my selected profile option was not saved (it stayed on Generic DLNA), therefore I was unable to use transcoding. It seems this is some bug.
Please help to resolve this issue.

That version is out of date and unsupported. It might also be a bug of the UI which is also developed by a 3rd party developer.

zip,

Is there an up-to-date version for ARM CPU that I might use?

I've tried to use Serviio server on QNAP from Windows console - it works, but in terms of profile config - still no luck, it reverts back to Generic.
And what's curious about it is that Dune HD player and PC, which are also present in the list as DLNA clients, allow to switch their profile and save.
They detect as Unknown devices, but TV is detected as MediaRenderer and it's profile can not be saved as LG TV / player.
Looks more like a bug of Serviio...

Is there any way to force using particular profile by configuring Serviio not from console but from some internal files?

How can I do it?
For ARM 0.6.1 is not released yet.

the QNAP package is done by a 3rd party so I cannot hep you, unless you follow one of the tutorials in the NAS forum and build it yourself

As far as I understand I need to go the "Hard Way" according to the instruction you post.
In easy way there is ARM Serviio 0.6.0.1 posted, which is outdated.

I thought there were guys at the QNAP forum that look after the package and keep it up-to-date. You should go there and have a look / ask.

Installed fresh version 0.6.2 - same situation (in both PHP, Java and even Windows consoles) - profile is not saved after I click save.
As soon as I turn on my LG TV and press Refresh button on Profile window it reverts back to Generic DLNA profile....

Any solution?

check your permissions

Please explain more in details about permissions.
What exactly should I do? Should I chmod some folder?

I did the "easy way" installation and nothing is mentioned about permissions in the manual...

Then read the rest ;)

I appreciate your 'helpful' redirections to installation manual page, but I read the rest, nowhere permissions are mentioned...
Serviio 0.6.2 works well except saving transcoding profiles, so there should not be any problems with installation.

Maybe it is worth to assign profile to exact renderer / IP explicitly in serviio configuration file (if there is one...)?

It's not permissions s it's stored in the database. I'd say it's more likely incompatibility of the UI and Serviio.

Guys, I succeeded with transcoding MKV file with DTS audiotrack to understandable for my LG TV format.
But now I got another issue - the file plays normally with ~5-10econds pauses each minute of playback for 'Loading....' message.
I seems that stream is being encoded during these pauses.
I understand Qnap's 2.0 GHz CPU is not that powerful, however is there any way to adjust some buffering for transcoding?
E.g. QNAP uses more time for transcoding and writes larger part of file to TMP folder and after that is starts to play.
By doing this, I guess it's possible to get rid of frequent 'Loading...' messages.

I used the following profile:
  Code:
 <Profile id="8" name="LG TV / player" extendsProfileId="1">
            <Detection>
                   <HttpHeaders>
                     <friendlyName.dlna.org>LG.*</friendlyName.dlna.org>
                   </HttpHeaders>
                  </Detection>
                  <MediaFormatProfiles>
                      <MediaFormatProfile mime-type="video/mp4" name="">AVI</MediaFormatProfile>
                  </MediaFormatProfiles>
                  <SubtitlesMimeType>text/srt</SubtitlesMimeType>
                  <!-- Transcoding doesn't seem to work and some files can be played natively: -->
                  <Transcoding>
                     <!-- Remux AC3/DCA in MKV to MP3 -->
                     <Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetACodec="mp3">
                        <Matches container="matroska" aCodec="ac3" />
                        <Matches container="matroska" aCodec="dca" />
                     </Video>
                  </Transcoding>
      </Profile>

As far as I understand nobody can help with this.

I thought about encoding audio straem not to mp3 (as pointed out in profile i'm using), but maybe to some 'lighter' format for QNAP to transcode.

Anybody has any idea?
