Hi,

I have disabled in transcoding in the "Serviio Console" however it is still performing transcoding for the On-line Sources (Profile: Samsung C-D series)

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Best Regards,

Currently all online sources are transcoded

All online is transcoded, if it's not already in a streamable format (ie mpeg/mpegts/mp3). The transcode setting has no effect on Online streaming.

Thank you for explaining this...

so would this mean that viewing HD sources online would require more horsepower from the CPU ?

Not really, it the resources can be just remuxed. Depends on the source and the profile you're using.

Can I disable transcoding in online files? I just want serviio to be a media server without this extra function. Thanks.

No. It will not transcode if it is in a streamable format (ie mpeg/mpegts/mp3) otherwise they MUST be transcoded to mpegts.

Nevermind, I found a solution: If I don“t want serviio to transcode videos I just use File Explorer to direct open a movie through Network (smb). If I prefer transcoder I open movie through bubblepnp + serviio. So, serviio gives me a plus feature.
