Can't play .3gp and .dat files on my Sony TV

Thanks to Serviio, my Sony TV (40CX520) shows .mkv, .flv and etc, but it does not show .3gp and .dat files. Any idea?!

The symptom is when I navigate the SMP N100 to my phone directory for video, I get the message "there is no playable file". On my android phone I am using an app called pixel-dms to serve files to my SMP. Could that be where the problem lies? Is there a serviio app for android that will be a better choice? Thanks.
