Should such kind of embedded subtitles like in this mkv container video work with a Samsung C TV :
Re: Subtitle for Samsung C TV
no one with an answer?
I also have a new Samsung J model and the issue seems to be the same.
Anyone having embedded subtitles in mkv files running successfully?

Re: Subtitle for Samsung C TV
PGS captions are used with Blu Ray discs, and are image based, rather than text. While the Samsung TVs can process text based captions, they cannot handle PGS. I think (based on my elderly memory!) that Serviio version 1.6 will finally process and burn-in PGS captions. But I haven't tested them yet, so I may not be correct there.

Re: Subtitle for Samsung C TV
Thanks for the feedback.
I used check and you are right this option is in serviio console. I had to switch the console language to english because german translation of the console settings and help text was misleading.
Anyhow, i turned the "burn in function" on, but the result is that the Samsung TV is not able to play the "transcoded" anymore. If i turn this feature off again the file can be played fine.
I tested serval files.
This happens on the Samsung J-model, the C-model seems to work.
Seems to been issue.
Can anyone reproduce it?
BTW, transcoding whole movies seems to be not a good option for me because the time skip is not available as far as i could test it on Samsung-C and Kodi on openelec.

Re: Subtitle for Samsung C TV
yeah, transcoding on the J model doesn't seem to work, not sure why.
