Most Files are not shown on my Samsung LE40C650 TV

Hello!

I have Serviio running on my Xp-PC and my Video-Files are located on my NAS. Most of them Blue Ray Rips. After having changed the serviio-service-account to "Administrator" I finally can see some of my video-files located on the NAS on my TV. But most of them not!

The files not appearing on my TV do not appear neither in the serviio-log during media-scan.
AVMedia Controller shows only those files for serviio I can also see on my Samsung LE40C650. ffmpeg -i on those files not shown up gives me error-messages like these: (All Blue Ray, first two created whith Handbrake, second whith ribbot264))

The ffmpeg outputs are ok. It might take some time to add all the files. Keep checking the log. Otherwise enable debug logging, click Force refresh and send the log.

Re: Most Files are not shown on my Samsung LE40C650 TV

OK, thanks - you're right. Obviously I was to impatient! :) I didn't expect the media-scan last that long.

Other thing is, during playback of a mkv from my NAS on my TV my PC crashed. No message according to this in my event-log. I hope this was a unique event! :o
And: Playback is oftem stuttering. Some files less, some more. Normally this shouldn't happen? Works flawless when playing directly from the DLNA-Server on my NAS. PC, NAS and TV are all cabled to my router.

Stuttering: I don't experience any but obviously you have 1 more hop in your route.

NAS -> TV
vs
NAS -> PC (Serviio) -> TV

It still should work ok as you're on wired network.

Yes - this was also my thought. Don't know why this doesn't work, normaly those 2 hops should't be a problem! :(

Re: Most Files are not shown on my Samsung LE40C650 TV

I now installed twonky on my PC and there I do not exprience such "stuttering". I mean: with serviio I have complete interrupts (picture stands still), with twonky on my PC I have sort of "micro-stuttering" during pan shots which I don't experience with twonky on my NAS. I checked my cables (all CAT5) and tried others without success. :(

Is it possible that Twonky transcodes the file and lowers the bitrate?

I don't know why, but transcoding options for video and foto are grayed out on NAS and PC-Twonkyserver. So there obviously is no transcoding happening.

While playing a Full-HD-mkv twonky produces about max 5% CPU-load on my NAS. I suppose transcoding would produce a higher CPU-Load?

I suppose they disable transcoding on NAS to avoid high CPU usage, so you're right. I'm not sure why the stuttering accurs

Unfortunately transcoding is disabled on my PC-TwonkyServer too. But this gets off-topic in a serviio-forum! ;)
