Serviio / Serviigo Android Auto Support

One of the things I like most about running a Serviio server on my NAS along with the Serviigo mobile client is that the combination scales so well for large audio libraries. The folder structures stay cached and are instantly usable.

Plex and others I have tried, given thier absurd metadata requirements take forever to load and have trouble staying resident in memory. This makes them basically, at least for me, useless for android auto use cases.

I can see Serviio / Serviigo being fantastic for android auto if the support was there. Can we get this ???

Also, will there ever be any Serviigo updates or if it is no longer actively supported, any plans for a new mobile app to pick up where Serviigo left off?

Not complaining, I have tried many products and Serviio / Serviigo is the best. just want to see it properly integrated into my driving experience.

thanks

At the moment, ServiiGo is not being actively developed. I can't say if the developer will come back to it at some point.

I have no plans to build another Android app, but obviously the API is there so people can pick this up.

Re: Serviio / Serviigo Android Auto Support

Thanks for the response, Petr
Given that there are no plans for mobile client side development, I would not expect any serviio branded Android Auto support in the near future.
Can you, or any of the forum members, suggest another android auto supported app that has been used succesfully with serviio?
I currently use Serviigo with AA but then control and status reside on my phone's screen, not the car's display.

Thanks,

Re: Serviio / Serviigo Android Auto Support

ServiiGo has been updated for Serviio 2.0. See this post for the latest information. viewtopic.php?f=17&t=6803

But I wouldn't expect an Android Auto version. It most likely would be blocked from showing video in a moving car, although streaming music should be possible.
