Re: V2.0 not populating for Media Browser

I am using Chrome on Win10 also. Same behaviour on MS Edge.

Could the unknown file types be because it indexes the files before the HD is all the way spun up? The unknown file types come in bunches and then there are a ton that are in the library but do not show up in Media Browser.

Re: V2.0 not populating for Media Browser

Could this have anything to do with it? I was just perusing the logs and ran across the errors:

Re: V2.0 not populating for Media Browser

the ffmpeg output looks ok, and in my test the file is recognised.

is Z: drive remote on the server? or local? Just making sure the user running serviio actually has read access to it.

You said you're using MyMovies metadata, did you select that in the Serviio console as metadata source? Alternatively use online sources in the console. Also make sure you have Video stacking enabled (so that many vob files are presented as a single movie via Serviio).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Z: is the local Drive made by Stablebit Drive pool so all my HDD as presented as a single drive to anything accessing the HDD and accessing with correct credentials. Both Serviio, MyMovies and my collection are on the same server.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have set Serviio to get metadata to online sources and rescanned. This populated a lot of my collection with some of them incorrect. I then went into MyMovies and cleaned the metadata and then updated (twice over two days) setting Serviio back and forth to mymovies in metadata. Slow process waiting for mymovies update and then Serviio rescan.

Movies are populated now, so progress. Still an issue.
When I click on VIDEO on the main menu in mediabrowser and then click on TITLES, I am presented with B,C and V only. Band C only list one movie each and V lists a plethora of VIDEO_TS files. If I click on MOVIES, I get one movie listed. If I click on FOLDERS, FOLDERS and the MOVIES, they are all listed.???? Is there a setting somewhere that needs to be changed?

I guess I forgot to add, Stacking is on.

To clarify, VIDEO>FOLDER>MOVIES lists all my movies correctly. VIDEO>MOVIES and VIDEO>LIST does not.

Re: V2.0 not populating for Media Browser

can you post some screenshots? of the V folder where it doesn't stack and the folders view where it works.

Also, where do you store the mymovies.xml file (if you're still using it as metadata source)

Re: V2.0 not populating for Media Browser

The xml files are stored in the folder with the movie AFAIK. Each movie folder has an xml file in the movie name folder but not in the video.TS or Audio_TS folders.

I have attached the screenshots.

Re: V2.0 not populating for Media Browser

ok, so if you're using MyMovies metadata as per the console, the file should be next to the .vob files.

If you're using online metadata, the folder name will be used to search for metadata.

eg for online:

  Code:
movie_name/VIDEO_TS/xxxx_1_01.vob

and for mymovies:

  Code:
movie_name/VIDEO_TS/xxxx_1_01.vob
movie_name/VIDEO_TS/mymovies.xml

Re: V2.0 not populating for Media Browser

I have MyMovies Metadata set for Media Browser as the attached file shows. MyMovies puts the file a folder level above the VIDEO_TS folder where the VOB files are. I have attached a file showing where MyMovies actually puts the file.

I guess I am confused about how part of Media Browser picks up the movies and other parts don't. (scratch head). It seems if Media Browser sees them accessing it one way, they should be there coming from another.

Maybe I should uninstall and reinstall Serviio as I was not having this problem until I did the upgrade without an uninstall first. Your thoughts on this?

Re: V2.0 not populating for Media Browser

ah ok, so I think you'd have to use MediaCenterMaster as the metadata source (not MyMovies). It'd still need to be in the VIDEO_TS folder for Serviio to "see it".

So I guess you were using online metadata for a bit, and then switched - hence why some of your mevies have matadata and some don't.

If you can't move the movie.xml file, I'd recommend to use the Online metadata sources and try it to find matches based on the folder.

Re: V2.0 not populating for Media Browser

Too many errors using online sources, so that won't be happening.

I have reached out to a friend to write a script for me to copy the xml files into the video_ts folders. Strange that MediaBrowser doesn't look in the movie root, it has to drill right past it to get to the video_ts folder. I take it that MediaBrowser is not something you have any control over.

Guess I'll ask the question, is there already a script available to copy the xml files into the required location?

not that I know of, but you could try to copy one or two to see if it actually works as you expect

Thanks for opening that ticket :D

If I move the movie.xml file into the VIFEO_TS folder, MediaBrowser picks it up. Friend is busy so the script file is on hold.

Re: V2.0 not populating for Media Browser

OK. This is starting to drive me batty. My friend has 4 kids and can't seem to put enough time in a row to put a script together. I told him to forget about it and I will move the movies.xml files manually. It is not difficult as it is drag and drop, just time consuming and I am retired.

So I started out in the X, Y and Z folders as they are small. Problems. After changing metadata back and forth between MyMovies and Media Center Master, MCM picks up more of the movies in Media Browser. Makes me wonder why MyMovies is even an option. MCM picks up some files with a long movie length even though the movie.xml file lists it the correct length??

Example: Movie - "You know My Name" 27:30:26 when the movie is actually 94 minutes. "<RunningTime>94</RunningTime>" I have no idea where it gleaned this really long play time from. There are a lot more. The running time is from the xml file

Searched active and last log file to find these.

However, it plays fine when played through Media Browser?!? I played it again today in its' entirety with no hiccups through Media Browser.

It is still not picking up a lot of movies but this seems like an easy one to fix (hopefully).

Re: V2.0 not populating for Media Browser

ok, MyMovies I think started encryting their format, so indeed it might not be working as expected. In any case, it looks like you setup your MyMovies to export in the MCM format, so use that.

Duration is not picked up from the xml file, but from the actual duration of the media files. In your case it's sum all the durations of the VOB files in the folder.

Re: V2.0 not populating for Media Browser

Yes MyMovies did start encrypting their files. They now charge to have an unencrypted xml file which is placed with the movie file for other programs to use. That is where I got the movie duration from.

Media Browser doesn't seem to use the xml file much. All the pertinent data is in there. The movies with the wrong duration play without a problem and for the time the xml file says what the duration is.

Is there another format that Media Browser will look at the nfo, etc file?

Can this be fixed in Media Browser?

I guess there isn't any other player that works with Serviio over the internet, that actually uses the xml file?

I have attached the movie.xml file that is with the vob files to show that it is unencrypted.
