Mediabrowser freezes my server (mac mini 2011)

I'm trying pro version and MediaBrowser. I've managed to set it up and login through Internet. Browsing through media library is O'k.
But when I try to play video through Mediabrowser, ffmpeg process eats out CPU on a server and nothing can be viewed on a client. Serviio is installed on mac mini 2011.

Is there a way to totally disable any transcoding for everything including MediaBrowser?

Otherwise, Pro version and Mediabrowser has no sence for me...

I didn't notice your original post. But no, you can't disable transcoding for MediaBrowser. That functionality is coded into the browser itself.

I can't say why your server would freeze. While I've seen CPU at 100%, the computer itself would still respond to the mouse and keyboard. I'm not certain what media would be considered native and not require transcoding for MediaBrowser, but I would guess MP4 video and AAC audio.

Transcoding can be disabled for DLNA playback. However, if you enable burned in captions that enables transcoding regardless of setting. But without transcoding your media must be compatible with whatever your player supports. For example, I can play anything on my Nvidia Shield, but my Roku players need all lossless audio transcoded, along with VC-1 video, as well as H.265 for the non-4K players.

It responds to mouse. But ffmpeg eats CPU and sends nothing to client (I don't know why -- maybe it wants to transcode a large chunk of media before sending to client).

I don't use captions. As a media player, I use Android tablet that has a player for any format, hardware accelerated for most formats (MXPlayer), or iPhone.
Anyway, as the MediaBrowser trial period is over, all this becomes theoretical :)
For over Internet play, I'm using plex (not a plex native android\ios client but html one that runs from plex.tv page). It plays just fine.

Serviio is used as DLNA server inside the house.

I too use Plex when external to my network, mainly because my Roku players can connect when using a hotel WiFi. It's far easier to use than MediaBrowser on a computer. But I decided to pay for a Pro license anyway, simply to support the work that Zip puts into this. It's a one person effort, so I wanted to show my support.
