Another attempt to solve this Subtitles issue..

Samsung smart TV UE-40D6510) connected to Serviio V2.0 via home WIFI network.

videos combined with English .SRT subtitles files are showing fine!!

videos with embeded subtitles DO NOT show the subtitle text.
Please advise what is the correct TV profile to use, and/or any other Serviio settings required.

Thanks

Re: Embedded subtitles issue.

SRT files are basic ASCII text. Embedded captions from DVD or Blu Ray rips are image based (DVDSUB or PGS). The TV does not support image based captions, but as you found can handle the SRT files fine. There's no setting or profile that will enable them. Enabling burn-in subtitles will in some cases add them, but then you're transcoding everything and the captions cannot be toggled on/off.
