In most cases, trick play (FF, rewind, resume) only works if the file is not transcoded. But since the generic profile offers no transcoding other than online sources, that's likely not the issue. It's possible the TV simply doesn't support that function. I don't believe my Samsung sets support it either. If the player doesn't support it, there's nothing that can be done at the server level. For example, my Roku devices will not trickplay with files in the TS/M2TS container when not transcoded. Even if I'm only transcoding the audio, then trick play works. But for native TS files, which the Roku can play without transcoding, there's no trick play.
While the Roku TV profile does transcode a number of codecs, both audio and video, with one exception it uses the HLS/applehttp streaming protocol. This protocol does support trick play on many players, but again not all.
