Re: Tip for DLNA streaming with a Wireless Network

I found this helpful to a bit more understanding of DLNA connections and have tried to apply it to my hardware as below.

I now have a Sony Bravia KDL32EX520 "smart" TV. Am I right to assume I can set up a laptop directly to the TV in a similar way to that described for the PS3 ie all I need is my Wireless Router (connected to the internet), laptop with wireless connection bridged to the Ethernet outlet and Ethernet cable to the TV? If I succeed in setting up the Network (no success so far!) should I then be able access the Internet and see anything on the laptop, on the TV?

Or am I missing something in all this? Would I still need TVersity or Serviio in this mix somewhere? I am pretty confused at the moment.

Thanks,

Ian

Try it, but you need a crossover cable not a regular enet cable.
