Service Topfield .REC files

Hi, what would I need to add to the profile config so that Serviio would serve up the REC files from my Topfield PVR please?
I understand that the files are TS and possibly mpeg2.
VLC can play these directly without issue.
I am currently only watching on PCs/Laptops on my network as I don't have a fanct telly yet!
Thanks.

Re: Service Topfield .REC files

Hey mate. Did you ever have any luck getting your Topfield files to play through serviio??

I have a TRF2400 and cant seem to find a media server to transcode the Topfield files.

Re: Service Topfield .REC files

No, and as you can see no replies here either. VLC will play REC files without any problem/conversion. The REC file is just an MPEG container file as far as I know. I've got a watch on this topic should the situation change with Servioo.

How do you think we can help you?
You do not give any information about the file format, the model of your TV / Bluray / etc. Please read FAQ, and my signature links...
If a rec file is MPEGTS with mpeg2 video that should be supported by serviio.

Is this similar to viewtopic.php?f=11&t=6149&hilit=rec&start=10#p44818

Re: Service Topfield .REC files

My problem seems similar to the issue in the thread you directed us to.

I have tried without much success to stream recorded files from my Topfield TRF-2400 to my Panasonic TH-L32E3A LVD TV. The weird thing is that I can stream recorded ch9 files but no rcordings from any other channels. If I run my recorded files through VideoReDo they play fine.

I must say that I am feeling a little out of my league here. There is a lot of talk about code writing and the like in serviio's forums which has made me question if it is the right product for me. I am no master but I can follow instructions so if you would like me to provide you with information to help solve this issue please let me know and I will get it done.

To be clear, what I would like to do is stream recorded files from my Topfield TRF-2400 PVR through serviio to my Panasonic TH-L32E3A TV.

Kind Regards
Scott

Re: Service Topfield .REC files

Can you follow this guide to provide some information about the files. http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=file_np

The easiest part is using media info http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=mediainfo, but if you can also provide the output of ffmpeg -i yourfile then that would be even better.

Re: Service Topfield .REC files

As you requested. This file is a FTA recording that will not play.

I have attached the file as it was to many characters to post.

Its just a word doc.

OK. In future you don't need to post the part of the media info output that includes all the EPG stuff. For those without office 2007+

Re: Service Topfield .REC files

I suppose its Panasonic profile so could you try to edit ./serviio/profiles.xml and change like this :

  Code:

Re: Service Topfield .REC files

Amazing......The profile works. I can now stream recordings of all FTA channels. Is this profile good to continue using or was it for testing purposes where some fine tuning may be required? Can we make this profile official? ie support for topfield products?

Now that it seems we can successfully stream content I have another question. Does Serviio support streaming direct from a device like my Topfield TRF-2400 to a TV without having to move the files to a computer first?

Illico and Will, thankyou so much for your support on this. To have one shot at fixing the problem many have tried to correct in the past and succeed is testimony to the ability of the two of you.

Kind Regards

Cool, enjoy now...

For the profile, I don't know if we could include it in the next release, I let ZIP decide. What do other Panasonic users?
