Re: Panasonic Viera 2013 Profile - Testing Required

@Pauli: Not sure, but try copying the Online Transcoding section from the Samsung D profile to this profile. ie, copy
  Code:
<OnlineTranscoding>
   <Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetACodec="ac3" aBitrate="384">
      <Matches container="mp4" vCodec="h264" />
       <Matches container="applehttp" vCodec="h264"/>
       <Matches container="flv" vCodec="h264"/>
   </Video>
   <Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetVCodec="mpeg2video" targetACodec="ac3" aBitrate="384">
      <Matches container="mp4" />
      <Matches container="asf" /> <!-- mms -->
   </Video>
</OnlineTranscoding>
and insert into the Panasonic 2013 profile between the </Transcoding> and <Subtitles> lines.

@anonemouse: Have a look at http://www.serviio.org/index.php?option ... icle&id=24, maxVBitrate option for video bitrate, and aBitrate for audio.
You should be Ok to use this profile if you wish, just changing the AVI support as per viewtopic.php?f=13&t=12367&p=86197#p85508.

@DenyAll:

Thanks, but this Online Transcoding section do not work! If I go to the Online folder at the Pana there is nothing (empty directory) but the declaration at Serviio is fine because at the Samsung there are my cams and the stream is working!

Re: Panasonic Viera 2013 Profile - Testing Required

Pauli - can you please recopy the profile in the OP and try (without the Online transcode bit), there have been some minor changes that could impact.
Do any of the other profiles allow the Online streams to be viewed on your Panasonic?

I tried the new version of the profile. Works good with mpg4, divx, mkv etc., but Online Transcoding section do not work! If I go to the Online folder at the Pana there is nothing (empty directory) again!

Re: Panasonic Viera 2013 Profile - Testing Required

I tried some other config's and now I think it is not a problem with transcoding but with promoting the live streams! I define some other streams and everytime the folder Online is empty (no entry at all) so I think the Pana get not the right Info from Serviio?

Thanks, Pauli

Re: Panasonic Viera 2013 Profile - Testing Required

Mea culpa! Mea culpa! Mea culpa!

I have blocked the Online streams to the Pana by my self (Limited Access). So my local Logitech Cam Stream working fine now!

Some other online streams working and some dont, but I think that is al little bit fine tuning to the Viera 2013 Profile!

Thanks a lot and sorry again!

Re: Panasonic Viera 2013 Profile - Testing Required

Proving that I do have to get life ;) , I have put together the attached Excel table to show when various Panasonic TV profiles should be used (rather than by model number I have tried to link to capabilities of the TV). In doing so I have used the term "mainstream" files, to signify arguably the most common type of video files found:

  • mainstream MKV's = MKV with H264 video (L4.1 and below) and AC3 audio (DTS audio is dealt with separately in the table);
  • mainstream MP4's = MP4 with H264 video (L4.1 and below) and AAC audio;
  • mainstream AVI's = AVI with either DiVX or XVid video.
To summarise the attached table, use the:

  • Panasonic Viera (2010) - if your TV does not play mainstream MKV files natively;
  • Panasonic Viera E/S/ST/VT (2011) - if your TV does not play mainstream MP4 file natively and does not play mainstream AVI file natively;
  • Panasonic Viera G/GT/DT/UT/VT (2011/2012) - if your TV does not play mainstream MP4 file natively;
  • Panasonic Viera (2013) - if your TV plays mainstream MP4 files natively (at this stage you may still have to modify the profile to transcode AVI files if your TV doesn't support them - still thinking about that one, will probably need another profile).
or another way of viewing it (a tick means the file type IS played natively):
Panasonic Profiles.jpg
Panasonic Profiles.jpg (32.51 KiB) Viewed 13498 times
ps. If you think this has value I may stick it in its own topic to help users select their Pana profile. A user should be able to select their best fitting profile by testing whether four sample files (a MP4, MKV, DivX and XVid) play natively.
pps. The attached Excel shows up areas which may need to be addressed in other Pana profiles (eg. the transcoding of High_10 should probably be extended to other profiles).

Re: Panasonic Viera 2013 Profile - Testing Required

Hello I have a Panasonic TC-65PS64 which is basically the TC-65PS60.

AVI files are not working. I have tried copying and pasting the Panasonic Viera 2013 Profile and using that profile but still does not work. Am I not putting in the code correctly? I have also attached the xml file. If i am fudging up the code can someone send me a profiles.xml file with the code properly inserted.

Thanks for the support ahead of time :D

This is the code I copy and pasted into the profile.xml:

Re: Panasonic Viera 2013 Profile - Testing Required

Try (as it states in the profile ;) ) replacing:
  Code:
<Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetVCodec="mpeg2video" targetACodec="ac3" aBitrate="384" forceInheritance="true">
         <!-- DivX: the following two lines are required for models that do not support DivX: ST60 -->
         <Matches container="avi" vCodec="mpeg4" vFourCC="div3,div4,div5,divx,dm4v,dx50" />
         <Matches container="avi" vCodec="msmpeg4" vFourCC="div3,div4,div5,divx,dm4v,dx50" />
         <Matches container="avi" vCodec="dvvideo" />

         <!-- If your device does not support AVI at all, replace the above four lines with (removing the comments): -->
         <!-- Matches container="avi" /-->
with
  Code:
<Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetVCodec="mpeg2video" targetACodec="ac3" aBitrate="384" forceInheritance="true">
         <Matches container="avi" />
This will transcode all AVI files. If this still doesn't work, post MediaInfo details for the file.

Panasonic TH-L60DT60A Viera Television

Will this profile be any good with my Panasonic TH-L60DT60A Viera TV?
I don't even know what year it is. How do I find that?

I've been using the Generic DLNA profile.
The other Panasonic Viera profiles didn't work too good.

Re: Panasonic Viera 2013 Profile - Testing Required

Hello.
I have a Panasonic TX-L42ET60E, Spanish version, two weeks ago
The profile Panasonic Viera (2013) does not work. The TV detects the server as "Serviio (PCHOME_01)", but when you select it is impossible to access the content. Instead the profile "Panasonic (2011)" it is able to read the contents of the server, but with aspect ratio issues discussed in another thread

Will I get around the problem by changing the line

<FriendlyName>. * VIERA ST60. * </ FriendlyName>

by

<FriendlyName> * VIERA (S|E)T60 * </ FriendlyName>
?

Thanks,
Pulsar.

Re: Panasonic Viera 2013 Profile - Testing Required

@Dypsis: The DT60 is a 2013 TV and supports MP4, so this will likely be the best Panasonic profile for you.

@pulsar.informaticks: I haven't done any work on expanding the detection for the 2013 models yet, but what you are suggesting should work.

All Users of this profile:

On the issue of expanding the friendly names so that your model is detected, I believe the 2013 Panasonic range (with network and DLNA support) is:

Plasma's: ZT60, VT60, ST60, GT60, S60
LED/LCD's: WT60, DT60, ET60, FT60, E6

Have I got them all? Is anyone using the profile with any other models?
Can you also advise whether your model supports AVI's (natively) with:
  • DivX video
  • XVid video
  • both DivX and XVid video, or
  • does not support AVI at all.
<Edit> Added GT60 to above list.
<Edit 2> On doing some reading, it seems the 60 series is also known as the 65 series in some countries (eg. VT60 = VT65). I have changed the profile in the OP to match to both cases.

Thanks DenyAll.

What's the story about expanding the friendly names so that the model is detected?

OK - stop rushing me :D
Have modified the profile in the OP to detect the models listed in my previous post. This may be enhanced further if users identify other models. We may also need to split the profile for AVI support depending on what people come back with.

Re: Restart The Serviio Service

DenyAll wrote:Save the file and exit.

You now need to restart your PC (or if you prefer and know how to do it, restart the Serviio service). Once restarted, you can go into Serviio Console and assign the Panasonic (2013) profile to your TV (remember to press Save after doing so).

Hi DenyAll.

How do I restart the Serviio service without rebooting?
I tried doing it through the Start Menu using the following switches, but I couldn't get it to start. I had to reboot.

"C:\Program Files\Serviio\bin\ServiioService.exe" -stop
"C:\Program Files\Serviio\bin\ServiioService.exe" -start

Those two commands need to be run at an elevated level I believe (Run As Administrator). I don't use them, but either use:
  • run services.msc and then select the Serviio Service. Press Restart to stop and start the service;
  • my tool here: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=12136. I have this running all the time, both for sleep management and automatic library refreshes, but you can use it only for the tools if you like. On the Tools tab, Stop and Start the service.

Thanks for that.

I have seen that tool, but haven't yet tried it.
I will give it a try as I have had trouble with my computer going to sleep when streaming with Serviio. Not sure why Serviio doesn't have sleep management built-in though.

Subtitles Won't Display

Hi DenyAll.

I've been testing this profile out on a few computers, and all is going well, except I cannot get subtitles to work.
PS3 Media Server displays subtitles for all my movies, but not with Serviio. I have Delivery > Subtitles: All check boxes checked.

Any ideas on how to display subtitles with Serviio?

Similar question here, I had a fully working setup with Serviio and F8000 from Samsung but was not satisfied with the picture of the device. So I was able to replace it to Panasonic VT60 that has a much nicer picture. But I have lost the ability to play back subtitles with the new TV. Is that something the TV is not capable of doing, a hardware problem? Also, please advise how to get the Viera 2013 profile, in my Serviio version I seem not to be able to find it. Thanks!
