Re: Web UI in PHP

After a long journey I was finally able to start Serviio on my Synology DS211+ running DSM3.0, but I can't add media folders to the library.

This is the screen that i get (all pages are on black background - is something wrong? I can see in one post here that the pages should be on white background, but that doesn't happen here):

Image

I also added
  Code:
/:
and
  Code:
/volume1/video:
under PHP Settings tab in Control Panel - Web Services in DSM 3.0

Image

I keep media files in the default shared folders (video, music and photo) created by Synology DSM because they are also used by Synology Media Server.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

I did that but I receive the folowing error:

I forgot to say, I installed serviio-0.5 web interface... if that could be the cause.

Re: Web UI in PHP

the address does exist. and the images with the related screen captures are linked to the above posts. they show perfectly fine in Internet Explorer.

maybe someone else could make a more appropriate comment.

Re: Web UI in PHP

Thanks pizzaguy541

ok from that error i can see there is a permissions error but how to solve that.

change open_basedir = in your php.ini or add your path to the current open_basedir. Restart the apache webserver /usr/syno/etc/rc.d/S97apache-user.sh restart.

path you want to add is php:/volume1/web/

Re: Web UI in PHP

It's no biggie - you can just put in the folder paths manually using Add Path...

I updated my guide with a screenshot since a few people have hit this problem. You will need to make sure that the serviio user has read access to these folders though (use the User Control Panel in DSM).

Re: Web UI in PHP

I got this up and running in Ubuntu. The only problem is that in the UI, I see black text on a black background. I was thinking maybe this could be solved with client-side greasemonkey scripting, but could probably be solved at the server level too.

Any suggestions?

Re: Web UI in PHP

I've fixed this temporarily with a tiny Greasemonkey script, code below (be sure to replace your Serviio WebUI host and port).

  Code:
// ==UserScript==
// @name           serviio
// @namespace      serviio
// @description    serviio
// @include        http://<YOUR_HOST>:<YOUR_PORT>/*
// ==/UserScript==
GM_addStyle("body { color: black; background-color: white; } img { border: 0; }");

Re: Web UI in PHP

Now that the UI problem is resolved, I noticed that it doesn't let me make any changes to Serviio settings. It displays the correct information, though. This is using the REST API's, right? If so then permissions are probably not an issue.

I am using Ubuntu 10.04, Serviio 0.5.1, and the Web UI v05.b.

This is a third party tool so very unlikely to be added to serviio build and serviio already provide a headless option in the remote console fucntions.

As for a howto this is also very unlikely as the chap who made the tool has gone AWOL and does not seem to be working on it anymore and from what captainrewind said above it looks like it no longer works with latest version of serviio (0.5.1)..
