Samsung TV loses Serviio Too Often

Hi Forum,

my Samsung UE40ES5500 TV keep losing Serviio. Its hard wired to my router an the Mac Mini running serviio is hard wired to that router also. Can i see whats happening anywhere? Any tips on why Serviio would keep disappearing from the Samsung TV?

ive updating Serviio to 1.3.1, will that solve the problems? Also, does the free 15 day pro version make a difference? as far as i can see, the feature pro offers arent anything to do with my problem... unless anyone has any clues otherwise??

Re: Samsung TV loses Serviio Too Often

describe better your problem... when it stops, what kind of video you are watching....
I own ES serie TV and it is pretty normal that TV disconnects 30 sec before end of video, main reason: samsung tv gets wrong video length from serviio.
so, impossible to watch music songs, but for films.... i don't care loosing last 30 sec of nothing (flying letters) :)

1.3.1 has a number of changes which may help your situation. No, upgrading to Pro isn't required and won't be any different in this aspect than the free version.

Make sure Samsung Link/Allshare is installed on your computer.

I had this problem, and a combination of the above and resetting my router to factory settings fixed it, it now works better than ever 8-)

[edit] Sorry - I see you've a mac - don't know sorry

Re: Samsung TV loses Serviio Too Often

the video doesnt stop mid play. I find that when i come to use Serviio on TV its not available. I have to reboot Mini and restart Serviio. Mostly this works but sometimes i have to restart it again.

Wondering why it doesnt simply remain constantly active? It seems to be running on the Mini, all the status's say it is, it finds the libraries etc, its just Serviio seems to dissapear from the TV.

Re: Samsung TV loses Serviio Too Often

i think im also having network problems as my DSL downstream rate is 17000mbps but my Mac Mini is showing me .8mbs speed. Could the speed transfer rate be a problem and thats why the Serviio is failing/falling off the TV? maybe its not quick enough and the TV times out and thinks its not running?

currently trying to figure out why my network is showing vast speed differences?!?!?
