MKV and MP4 subtitles not showing up

Hello to all and thanks in advance for any help.
So, my problem is the next one:
Subtitles were working in older versions of Serviio (before 1.4.1.2), and they displayed perfectly, without any problem andin perfect sync.
But now, with the new version (the mentioned 1.4.1.2) they seem to work when they feel like, with that i mean the they work but from time to time they stop working completely, and files i know they have working subtitles stop displaying them (movies still work fine though), then, after some time, they start to work again, like if nothing had happened.
My current config has no transcoding (dont need it) and the subtitle option selected is only "Enable Subtitles".
MKV files with subtitles on them (inside them) work normally.
I have tried using the other two options but they still dont work.
I have used USB to play the movies with their subtitles and they work with it, so its not a TV problem.
My TV is a Samsung UN40F5500 and my pc is an Asus G50vt with Win7 x64.
Any help is appreciated =)

Re: MKV and MP4 subtitles not showing up

If they are not transcoded in, it's up to the TV. There has no been any change related to this in any recent version of Serviio.

It could be due to the encoding of the subtitle file.

Re: MKV and MP4 subtitles not showing up

Thanks for the response.
Thats strange, because the subtitles work at random times.
This is an example of a video file im playing :
Citizen.Kane.1941.1080p.BluRay.x264.anoXmous_.mp4
and the subtitles:
Citizen.Kane.1941.1080p.BluRay.x264.anoXmous_.srt
The tv has no problem playing them from an USB memory, but when using Serviio it just doesnt detect them, like if they are not there.
Maybe by reinstalling it it will work again, ill try that later and report anything.
Thanks for the assisst.

Re: MKV and MP4 subtitles not showing up

try to remove the _ at the end of both files. Also, do you have any language setting for the subtitles in the console? if yes, try to remove it.

Re: MKV and MP4 subtitles not showing up

Hello, thanks for the help, sorry i havent answered, got busy on some stuff.
Anyway, i dont have any language preference on Serviio (blank space) and still no response.
Other thing, on some MKV files with subtitles on them, they wont work too.
I have two files (info taken from VLC):
Frozen with these subtitles -
Type : Subtitles
Codec : Text Subtitles with various tags (subt)

Monsters University with these subtitles -
Type : Subtitles
Codec : BD Subtitles (bdpg)

With the file played from an USB memory, both subtitles are rendered correctly, but when playing them with Serviio, only the Frozen subtitles work, while the Monsters University dont, i assume its the Codec used, but is there any other reason for that ?

Taking the _ from the Citizen Kane files didnt work, another example is the movie : 300.mp4 - 300.srt dont work either.
Reinstalling it didnt worked, so is there anything else i can try ?
And one quick question: Will serviio eventually support HEVC files (x265) ?
Thanks for the help =)

Re: MKV and MP4 subtitles not showing up

USB and DLNA use different renderers on the TV, that's why it works with one and not the other.

Text embedded subtitles are apparently fine in the MKV, but image based ones not (the Monsters file).

You could post detailed log when browsing to and playing the Kane film.
