Re: Sony Bravia 2011 Series

I have the 26EX320 UK model which came out last Friday. The list is from Sony UK page of all the 2011 models which share the same firmware (as I was updating mine).

To confirm using the existing Sony Bravia profile all functions appear to be working great. I've made no changes to anything, it all just works :D

wonderful thanks for testing that for us now we know we wont have to add extra work for the 2011 tv's that is assuming the TV was autodetected in teh console and assigned the correct profile ??? if it was an shows as " unkown device " can you install Intel tools ( link in my signiture ) to get the detection information for us using device spy ?

Could you just verify with INTEL Tools the GetProtovolInfo result to compare with 2010 models?

Re: Sony Bravia 2011 Series

KDL-26EX320 Dump, its not 1:1 the same as my EX503 dump. I'm not familiar with this though to know if its significant. It talks about divx and avi, does this mean it should be able to stream natively without transcoding ? The manual doesn't say anything useful and is technically wrong on a few aspect. The model isn't even listed on Sony UK website yet, though the 24" and 22" versions are but with manuals in european languages not English.

Also odd my Asus O!play didn't list on all the devices. Serviio works very well with it as a 'Generic DLNA' device.

Re: Sony Bravia 2011 Series

The i-manual built into the set says this about DLNA file types;

Files from a network device need to be in the following formats:
- Still images: JPEG
- Music: MP3, linear PCM
- Video: AVCHD, MPEG2, MPEG1, MP4 (AVC), MP4 (MPEG4), DivX

Thats different from 2010 models for video which only did MPEG2 and AVCHD I think. I'm not sure how I can test these file types, I set Serviio to recognise this set as a generic dlna device but then I can only list mpegs on the tv, not avi's.

Re: Sony Bravia 2011 Series

Thanks,
So it seems that 2011 models support new formats:

video/mpeg : MPEG1
video/mp4
video/x-msvideo
video/x-divx
video/divx
video/avi

Could you select "Generic Profile" and make some test with *.avi, *.mp4, *.mov sample files ?

Could you try with modified profiles.xml by adding this section ?
  Code:
   <Profile id="14" name="Sony Bravia TV (2011)" extendsProfileId="1">
      <Detection>
         <UPnPSearch>
            <FriendlyName>BRAVIA.*</FriendlyName>
         </UPnPSearch>
      </Detection>
      <MediaFormatProfiles>
         <!-- rename native mpeg2ts with h264/ac3 ac3 formats to those supported by the tv -->

Re: Sony Bravia 2011 Series

Set to generic and tested all my avi's (thats quite a lot) and it can't see any of them. One was renamed file.divx just incase but it can't see that either. They are mainly Xvids with mp3 audio though, not sure I have a specific divx codec avi.

I do have a HD divx from divx.com, it didn't show up. (Madagcar trailer)

mp4, yeah got a few that played no problem.

mov, it lists the files but doesn't play them. They are 720p 60fps from a Kodak Playsport Zx3.

mpeg1, mpeg2 and VOB files all played as expected.

Re: Sony Bravia 2011 Series

Iron_Man_2-DivXPlusHD.mkv = not listed
2 Fast 2 Furious_Trailer_Divx(Made By DJT).avi = not listed (divx 3 low)
Madagascar_HD.divx or Madagascar_HD.divx.avi = not listed

For Apple
sample_iTunes.mov = listed, played
sample_mpeg4.mp4 = listed, played

Not sure what's up with the AVI not even listing no matter on extension or codec in use.

I'll edit the profile next.....

Re: Sony Bravia 2011 Series

I rebooted for good measure and it failed as I had edited it wrong ! Quickly fixed and working. Nothing has changed though from the files that play and are listed and those that didn't / weren't under the generic profile.

To resume:
mpeg1, mpeg2, vob: OK
mp4, mov : OK (could you provide "ffpmeg -i" of your bad mov file?)
.avi, .divx: FAILED
.mkv : FAILED

Could you try this:

Seems good, could you provide "MediaInfo" of this file?

Re: Sony Bravia 2011 Series

ffmpeg, I just typed the comment in terminal, Should I use the serviio version you linked too for the -i dumps ? I presume so... or something else ? sorry...

new profile applied and mkv play ! I've got many mkv trailers, 720p, 1080p, DTS etc and every single one I tried played perfrectly. Only Killa stuttered but then I'm running Wifi G and I ran out of bandwidth, it started fine. I plan to get a N router soon'ish. Anyway I tried about 15 mkvs including the divx hd file I mentioed about in the mkv, all worked.

Nothing else changed as far as I could tell but thats great anyway.

I tried a the single mt2s file I had as well, its not listed.
