TC-L47E5 TV and Transcoding MKV with DTS Audio

Hello All, I am a complete n00b at all of this, but it seems on any mkv that is using DTS audio gets transcoded and stretched the video vertically.
Using the controls on the TV I cannot adjust the aspect ratio, it doesn't change anything.
The video I am trying to play is 1280x544 . I decided find another video online to test and it does the same thing.
Again , I am a complete novice at this, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Edit: Forgot to post, I am using the Panasonic Viera E/S/ST/VT (2011) Profile, but have tried the other one and the same thing occurs

Edit #2, I found an avi file that also stretches vertically. It is an xvid file with A52 sound.

Sorry I never posted a reply, I ended up going away before I could. When I got back my wife had purchased a Western Digital TV Live that was on sale, everything seems to work fine with it.
