Switch toggle to force serviio to readering all formats

Hi

Its ashame serviio cant be forced to render all video formats regardless.. theres no tick option

even if it selects or you select the correct profile some video formats still dont behave like flv variants
etc and ASFs

forcing ffpmeg to transcode to mp2 with the render would be great..

at moment the sony bravia hangs if you scroll too fast or to the middle of video when its a xvid but works
flawlessly with mp4s (cos it transcodes them) if I select 2010 profile. over 2012 profile.

so has anyone made a profile or is there a profile in list that can force rendering on all formats perhaps?
I assume generic doesnt.

since its harder to edit profiles when its a php module running on a NAS media box unlike
on windows

cheers

directtv DVR transcodes everything, unless something has changed since the last time I looked at it.

Re: Switch toggle to force serviio to readering all formats

theres a profile called DirecTV HD DVR in ver 1.3.5 of the module..

I give it a go with sony bravio.. often its not as simple.. as some profiles dont
show the library listings properly seems bravia is a troublesome smart tv it dont
follow the DLNA proper standard from what i read over the year.

but still it would be good ot have a feature one could toggle to be sure its rendering everything
regardless of profile and if it changes in upgrades/updates.

Re: Switch toggle to force serviio to readering all formats

yes it seems to transcode divx's however fast scroll to middle of the file times out or hangs
on tv.. so maybe the transcoded file isnt seamless for xvid/divxs after all

gone back to the standard bravis 2012 (non usa) profile.. that one dont transcode but
seems to not hang and skips to the middle when scrolling for xvids ok
and mp4s

but other formats suspect be problem with asfs

so maybe rather then a toggle transcode everything needs to be more percise
a tick for each format to transcode.. [ ]mp4 [ ] xvid/divv [x] ASF [x] FLV [x[ all other formats and so on..
then it can use a mix of profile and overrides for formats

Serviio is extremely flexible with the xml files.

Why don't you write your own profile for your device its not actually that hard. Using the existing profiles as templates you can copy and paste the parts that work/don't work on your device.

its a php module accessing and using putty to make profiles is not the ideal way to go

and walding through code even xml files is not so great learnign how to and editing
yuk...

when a simple tick overide system to force the ffmpeg to do its job would be the best thing
to solve problems and laypeople would be able to solve their rendering issues if a profile
isnt quite working
