Serviio service on Synology keeps stopping

Hello,

I have been running Serviio Pro on my synology box for over a year without a problem, 2 days ago i installed 1 new hard drive (which i have done several times over the last year) and now every 2 or 3 minutes Serviio just stops.

Things that may be important to know, Serviio is installed on Volume1 but the media is on an extension box to the main synology and has not had any hdd upgrades, i have not upgraded DSM either. (edit: now updated to try and fix)

This morning i installed the latest 2.x version and it seemed stable so i bought the license and added it and within 5 minutes the server stopped again.

Nothing has really changed on my NAS since first installing it and up to 2 days ago has been running perfectly.

are there any logs i can look at to see whats going on? its really frustrating and i use the media server alot.

Thanks

Yes, we need to see the Serviio log to see if it's shutting itself down. I'm not 100% certain where it's located on a NAS, but is should be in the same folder location as the install, under a Logs folder.

Re: Serviio service on Synology keeps stopping

OK, so that's a Java error. Doesn't matter how much HDD space or memory you have, Java has independent settings for how much memory it can access, but I have no clue how to change those settings on a NAS. Hopefully one of the NAS savvy users here can answer that question. It could also be that you're using a 32 bit version of Java, and it's running into the hard memory limit that 32 bits has. Again, I can't specifically help with that on a NAS device.
