Will not open/play using Yamaha Rx-v3800 network receiver

Serviio installed and running on Win 10 machine. The IP address for the Yamaha shows in the status panel. Profile is set to generic DLNA profile. Serviio shows and plays on Samsung TV. Both are connected by ethernet. Serviio is not listed in the server list in the Yamaha receiver's PC GUI list. From reading forum and installation information I'm guessing that I need a profile for the Yamaha but can not find one listed. I'm not familiar with XML and doubt if I could write a profile myself. Asset is running OK on Yamaha receiver but I want a separate server for an opera collection. Is a profile avalable for the Yamaha Rx-V3800?

Just to confirm, you are looking to just play audio files, right? Not video? I believe AVRs are only capable of playing audio files.
There is one existing profile for Yamaha AVRs. It's labeled "Yamaha BD-A1020/BD-A1010" but I would expect it work well with the RX-V series. I've never tried using my Yamahas that way, so I'll test it myself and see how it works. I did just try the network radio function and Serviio didn't appear. But since I've never used it before I might be doing something wrong.

OK, figured out how it works. My music consists of MP3 and M4A files, and they all played fine using the Generic profile. But if you have some other types of files, the profile I mentioned above should take care of them.

Re: Will not open/play using Yamaha Rx-v3800 network receive
Just to fill in some info- yes audio is requirement. All files are wav. BD-A1020 and BD-A1010 are disc players and next generation to RX-V3800. I did try in case but no. The log shows there is no recognition of the renderer. I noticed that the issue was raised previously without resolution from what I can see
Re: Will not open/play using Yamaha Rx-v3800 network receive
I pulled up the manual online and found this comment:
So, while they claim support for WAV files, they also have a caveat that they still might not play. Looking at the Yamaha profile that Serviio has, I do see a matches line for the "wv" container. I'm guessing that is for WAV, but I don't know that for sure. If that's true I would expect WAV files to be transcoded to LPCM, which the receiver should play. So if you haven't tried that profile I suggest it. But I think you are saying you did, so that's just strange.
This unit cannot play music formats other than WMA, MP3 and WAV (PCM format). Also note that it cannot play certain music files even if these are recorded in the WMA, MP3 or WAV format.

Re: Will not open/play using Yamaha Rx-v3800 network receive
All music files play via Asset UpnP. Tried profile again and it does not work . The receiver does not recognise Serviio server. Not shown in the PC/Musicast menu. Receiver is 12 yrs old and I think released 2 yrs before that. Originally used WMP11 and worked fine with Win7. Probably need a legacy profile.

Thanks for your assistance. I pursued this with Yamaha. Their response is below. Not really a satisfactory answer. I have my own library collected over many years including historical vinyl digitised using Roxio with metadata added. I would be more inclined to pursue unit that can use higher definition files. I already have satisfactory netradio. Thanks again.
"The RX-V3800 was released in 2007, and as such is a discontinued model that is no longer supported by firmware. This means that many modern server configurations are no longer going to be compatible. Your best bet would be to use a network adapter such as a WXAD10 to update the network facilities of the receiver, and add sources such as Bluetooth, Spotify, updated net radio and server functions. You can read more about the WXAD10 at the link below."
