Not adding new files

I'm ready to go back to the older version (if possible). The newest version seems to be having problems adding new video files to the library. The last time I had this issue with 1.0.1, I had to ununstall it an re-install. This ment that I had to wait for it to scan all my files from scratch and not be able to use it for 1.5 days (I have a lot of movies).
I tried force refresh, delete shared folder and re-add it, etc.
I have several DLNA devices that display the same results: new files added don't show. These are common avi, mkv etc. file types
Using Win7 Ultimate
This problem may prevent me from ripping all my BR movies (over 400) from the Sony BR Changer to my server and go completely with no mechanical BR players.
Any ideas?

Re: Not adding new files

I looked at you topic suggestion, but I can't get the ffmpeg command line to work because it said the file is in use. I tried to un-install Serviio, but couldn't do that completely either since some of the files were open. It un-installed most, but many are still there.

Now I'm stuck in limbo - can't re-install new one because fragments of old installation are still there and it re-uses files from old one. After I re-installed, all the config info was still there, so I know it didn't completely un-install.

When I look at Task Manager, Serviio process is not there, so I know it stopped.

How do I uninstall so I can have a clean re-install?

Re: Not adding new files

just restart your PC, remove Serviio folder (under Program Files) and then install it again

Re: Not adding new files

Restarted PC, re-uninstalled Serviio also. Seems like there was a missing or corruped Java files this time, maybe because of incomplete previous Serviio uninstall. This time I kept getting error messages saying it couldn't find some Java files during this Serviio uninstall. Completely un-installed all 3 Java programs directly in "Uninstall or change program". Downloaded and installed new copy of Java direct from Java.com.
Then re-installed Serviio. Now everything works fine.

As an FYI, I rarely shut down my PC since it's also a media server. As an attempt to add these new files to Serviio's library, I did restart my PC many times in the last few days with no results. No matter what, it couldn't add the new files.

My question remains that started this thread. Why did it stop updating folders after adding files?

Once again the second time, to fix the problem I had to unistall and re-install Servio and re-add all my folders containing the movies.

Also, thanks for the speedy response.

Re: Not adding new files

If it stops adding files it might be stuck on one particular file. Check the logs to see which file it's trying to add and try to move the file outside of shared folders. then just restart Serviio - no need to reinstall.
