No problem with my 2010 model.
The following command line is used:
ffmpeg.exe -fflags +genpts -i "http://download.ted.com/talks/MichaelAnti_2012G.mp4" -y -copyts -c:v copy -vbsf h264_mp4toannexb -c:a copy -map 0:0 -map 0:1 -sn -f mpegts D:\temp\ServiioTemp\Serviio\transcoding-temp-1000000000100003-sony2010-ORIGINAL.stf

Could you enable detailed serviio logging and find the ffmpeg command line used ?

I've not sorted out a log file but adding a me2 for Sony 2011 series, no audio online. Working on other devices on the network.

Re: missing sound on many online channels with v1.0

Playing Skyfall trailer from HD Trailers (youtube, iplayer don't have audio on Sony 2011 either, other devices fine.)

The line you mentioned is "Starting ffmpeg -fflags +genpts -i http://pdl.stream.aol.com/pdlext/aol/br ... 20p_dl.mov -y -copyts -c:v copy -vbsf h264_mp4toannexb -c:a copy -map 0:0 -map 0:1 -sn -f mpegts /tmp/Serviio/transcoding-temp-1000000000200001-sony2011-ORIGINAL.stf"

Re: missing sound on many online channels with v1.0

Hi all,

I have the same problem (no audio). When I play the streams in VLC I get audio. I am using mac OX 10.5, Sony Bravia KDL46EX720 (2011 series). Here is an example:

I really have no idea where to look for the relevant information in the log. Therefore I attached the whole log as well. There are also channels like Sky Sport HD 1 which show up in VLC but not in my bravia.

Can you post any live sport streams, such as Sky sport or Eurosport, almost all streams on http://piscui.webear.net/rtmpgui/rtmpgui.php don't work.

Thanks in advance,
gmr

Re: missing sound on many online channels with v1.0

I think we might need Zip to look at this as the logs don't seem to show an error. Its clearly a fault with Sony 2011 audio, even on pass thru to my amp I get nothing.

Re: missing sound on many online channels with v1.0

The notable change to the audio handling on Sony Bravias between 0.6.2 and 1.0 was to allow native playback of AAC audio (rather than force transcoding of everything to AC-3). This works fine on my 2009 Bravia and owners of more recent models had reported successful testing.
Perhaps it doesn't work in some regions. Are you in Europe or the US (so PAL or NTSC)? Can you try playing test downloaded media which has AAC audio? Is it silent too?
Could the problem streams perhaps be using HE-AAC which the Sony devices might not support?

Here's the FFmpeg information for the clip that featured in the log excerpt above:

Re: missing sound on many online channels with v1.0

I'm in the UK and get no audio on anything from online be it Youtube, iPlayer, trailers etc... it must be a problem on the European 2011 models and AAC audio streaming.

I can test properly later but seems odd I get no audio at all from anything online, any source.

But downloaded movies with AAC play natively, or are they problematic too?

Re: missing sound on many online channels with v1.0

If I download the exact same files e.g the Skyfall trailer or the other clips and store locally I get sound. So its something to do with the audio when streaming isn't coming through for some reason. I've had a brief look at the new style profile xml file and not got my head around it yet to be honest. I'll try to figure it out later..... but something inherited for Sony 2011 stops all online audio working.

Ok I've had a look of the profiles.xml and I can't see anything inherited or reason to stop audio working. Some streams like iPlayer are AC3 so its not AAC specific.

Strange...
I see that when its stream from "rtmp" there is an "buffer=100000000" option on ffmpeg command line. Don't know if the value can be changed.Try some other value.
don't know if with "http" link its the same.

Re: missing sound on many online channels with v1.0

"buffer=100000000" is listed in the logs for iPlayer as well but not for HD Trailers. I have no control over that, its something Serviio is putting in as e.g for BBC iPlayer I just feed a RSS link and off it goes.

Any suggestions on what else I can check ? its not just me, this has come up in a few other threads as well.

I've got a 37EX723 and 26EX320, same problem on both but Asus O!play, XBMC, WDTV all fine from same server.

So we could enable aac transcoding for online content... Illico/patters, do you remember the lines that have been added to 1.0?

Re: missing sound on many online channels with v1.0

Is this the code that needs to be added to Sony 2011 profile ? my best guess..... I can't test just yet.

<OnlineTranscoding>
<Audio targetContainer="ac3" forceInheritance="false">
<Matches container="AAC" />
</Audio>
</OnlineTranscoding>

Not sure 100%, but I remember that Sony Bravia inherit of generic profile that transcode all audio to ac3 for online video. I will look at my backup folders....
