[SOLVED] Bravia and Freebox all via Broadband over Powerline

Hi all,
first of all, thanks for this amazing piece of software. It is really very good and free on top of that !!!!

In the past I have successfully used Serviio with my KDL37EX500. The PC was connected to the Alice modem directly and the telli via a "Broadband over Powerline". Everything worked, I could have flv mp4 and anything else and it showed great.

And then came the internet provider change.

Free had a better offer for television over IP, so I changed. The French Freebox has two components:
  • The modem
  • A TV box with builtin HD.
The two are also connected via "Broadband over Powerline", but uses a private subnet (192.168.27.0)

The list of IP adresses is as follows:
  • 192.168.0.10: The Serviio server PC
  • 192.168.0.100: TV
  • 162.168.27.14: the freebox television controller
  • 192.168.0.254: the freebox modem

Since then serviio swaps IP addresses of the telli with the freebox. The device name and profile recognition is also swapped and thus the TV no longer plays any video. (just in case you wonder, no, switching off the TV component of the freebox does not help).

The DLNA server is recognized. In version 0.6.1 the music work fine (although I still prefer to listen to it over a hifi), photos, too. With 0.6.2 the message for all content types is "Cannot retrieve content" (or sth. similar).

The log file (set to debug) are attached, as well as a copy of the console window.

If some one could help, that would be great.

Many thanks for reading me and if you do spend time for me, thanks again.

Re: Serviio Bravia and Freebox all via Broadband over Powerl

Not sure to anderstand:
The list of IP adresses is as follows:
192.168.0.10: The Serviio server PC
192.168.0.100: TV
162.168.27.14: the freebox television controller
192.168.0.254: the freebox modem

Why on serviio console
192.168.0.100 TV (supposed EX500) use Generic Profile ?
192.168.27.14 freebox modem use Sony Bravia profile? and do you change device name manually ?

Could you check on Sony bravia menu -> Network, what is the setting ?

Suggest:
- Remove all device on your serviio console.
- Save
- Restart serviio service
- Refresh device list on serviio console

Re: Serviio Bravia and Freebox all via Broadband over Powerl

Hello Illico,

thanks a lot for taking the time to read my message and looking into my problem.

Well, what the attachments show, is the state after a fresh install of version 0.6.2. When I clean and restart the service, I get exactly the same state.

There is a correction, however, I have to make. Today, I can navigate into the folder structure, but no items are available. When restarting the server, I go back to seeing "Can not receive content list".

Also I realised that my first log file didn't contain any debug info. So here is one, that should have it.

Good night

Holger

Oh and another question: my firmware is most certainly outdated. Illico, I see you have similar model, do you reckon, updating will help my problem?

Re: Serviio Bravia and Freebox all via Broadband over Powerl

I have the same problem with samsung tv 50es6100 and Freebox.

I find a solution but not really god.
In fact, when TV starts, serviio see two IP for 1 second : freebox IP and TV IP. :?
The problem is that the TV IP is lost after 1 sec and the freebox IP is preserved ... with SamsungTV profile

So, finally, we have the TV with the wrong IP in serviio. And it works not really well (mkv don't work for example)
To solve the problem , select the wrong IP (192.168.27.14) and click 'Remove'. Then Click 'Refresh'. It's magic , now TV has the good IP (192.168.1.46 for me) and all works.
The problem is that we have to do it again each time the tv starts. it is very painful.

I do not know where does the problem because it works well with my pionneer amp.
I notice that when my tv is off, serviio see it 'red' . When my pionneer amp is off, serviio see it 'orange'...

So get on your local Sony website, download the latest firmware and update it or do it via the tv but on your model you have to wait, no force update.

Ok, thanks a million, this did the job for me too.
Works like a charm. I shall try to set the subject of this thread to [SOLVED] ....

Many thanks and congrats for a very nice piece of software.

After some gentle searching (yes I did read the FAQs) I couldn't find any way to set the subject to [SOLVED] .... Sorry.

Re: [SOLVED] Bravia and Freebox all via Broadband over Power

Is there any way a broadband wireless card, not for home but for mobile users (i.e. AT & T , Sprint) can support products like xbox live? or better yet, can a wireless card with USB connector (at&t) be hooked up to a router so as to provide connections on multiple products- or ones that take USB connections, but that don't run windows.
