New Router Problems

I am a long time Serviio user, and I recently upgraded my router. I know I have read other threads about this and tried most of the things mentioned that solved the problem. To no avail. I cannot connect any of my local devices, Roku and Android tablet most notably, to Serviio thru the new router. Occasionally I will see my Samsung TV pop into the Serviio Status screen. But no other devices... not my Playstation 3 or Tivo, nor Roku, etc.

I really want to upgrade my router... my old one, which works, is an ASUS N900 type, and the new router is a Netgear R7000 AC1900. I checked and I am on the latest firmware on the R7000, but the online manual doesn't match-up with what I am seeing in the Netgear setup screen. The manual talks about a ReadyDLNA feature that is enabled by default, but I cannot find the screen to disable it. The online manual talks about a "Media Server" screen available thru Advanced>USB Functions>ReadyStorage... but I don't see it anywhere.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

By the way, I have Serviio 1.9.2 Pro (I think) and I have set the advertisement rate to every 15 seconds. I am running Windows 10 with no recent updates. My wife and I watched movies thru Serviio last night, no problem, new router this afternoon and nothing now.

Re: New Router Problems

Okay, I fixed it. Well, my son fixed it <grin>.

He discovered that when the new router was installed my computer reset the local lan to "Public" and my firewall rules only allow Serviio on a "Private" network. So once I told Windows that the new router was forming a "Private" network, Serviio was once again able to communicate. All started working properly.

Now why was my Samsung TV able to talk to Serviio thru the firewall??? That will remain a mystery, I guess. Anyhow, I am once again a happy camper.
