I am using Series A, 46", Samsung TV with Samsung BD-D5300 DVD player, and Samsung wireless adapter, and all across a Linksys wireless router. Smart Hub works fine, I can run movie trailers, Youtube stuff , without any problem.
However, when I try to access my Movies Folder, I can see it, open it, and select a movie, but then the connection appears to drop. Even when I am looking at the main menu, with My Devices, Serviio appears for a moment then drops, from the list of devices??

Any suggestions?

do u access serviio through your A series ?? if you do can u follow this howto to get the sink information from it please im in great need of an A series report.

Should have said I have the wireless adapter plugged into the DVD player, as there is no USB port on the TV.
Tks

shame ok then, as your running wireless then your network is more than likely your problem, your only option are go wired, upgrade your router.

if you choose to upgrade your router see here for advise.

Re: Serviio disconnects after a few minutes

I would go wired. I also had no problems streaming from the net or watching clips on youtube via my wireless connection. But I had problems with a wireless connection when streaming videos they would stream for about 10mins then stop and serviio would disconnect at random times it was driving me crazy. I have now gone wired, well i am actually using homeplugs but the connection is excellent just as it should be no drop outs!!!

yep exactly but i always recommend a good wireless router over homeplugs but if fund are tight they do do the job. :)

Really? What would you recommend as a good wireless router? Currently I have a Belkin N router.

bimbamboom wrote:I had the same problem with my Samsung D6500 blu-ray player.

I use a wired connection.

I set my IP address for the blu-ray player to always get the same IP number. I did this by going into the routers web page and made DHCP always give the same address to the player. I also manually set the Bound IP Address on the serviio console to be the IP of my PC.

I haven't had any disconnects since.

I have also same problem. Serviio is connected wireless to my Samsung Blu-ray player BD-D8200. In my router settings the blu-ray player is always getting same address via DHCP. I updated firmware on router to the latest via my Internet provider. Still serviio disconnects every 15-20 minutes, but reapers after a couple of minutes.

What to do? Could another device that is connected to my home network via wifi interfere? (My Sony music player is sometimes connected via wifi, and my laptop, serviio is on my stationary computer which is connected wired to my home network)

Update: In router settings I had open ports for Serviio. They were assigned generally. Now I removed them and assigned them only to my Blu-ray player address and it seems to work. Just finished watching a program from SVTPlay which lasted 42 minutes with Serviio not disconnecting!
