The tutorial for making transcoding profiles is going over my head. I currently have Skifta and aVia installed on my Kindle Fire and the videos i'm streaming seem to only work sporadically on each. What would i need to know to make a Kindle Fire Transcoding Profile? Is there already a Kindle Fire profile out there?
Re: Kindle Fire Profile?
if you runnin skifta then it must be android os.
If you want to play files on your android device, there are already some existing solutions http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=androidtools. The recomended configuration is http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=android_skifta and http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=android_rock

Re: Kindle Fire Profile?
Yes, the Kindle Fire is running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread i believe. I installed both apps you recommended and it was able to work with Divx files but it's having trouble playing MP4 files through Serviio->Skifta->RockPlayer. The MP4 files can only play smoothly through RockPlayer when it is saved locally on the device using Hardware Decoding Mode. Might be my PC, it's only single core 2.3GHz...can't handle the transcoding?
Re: Kindle Fire Profile?
I use upnplay and mxplayer on my droid x. Try that combo. I use the generic profile.

no files are transcoded on android devices, they are all sent as is to the device and its up to the device to do any changes it requires.

Re: Kindle Fire Profile?
another alternative on android instead of skifta or upnplay is bubbleupnp along with moboplayer. i use it on my wildfire and it plays some mp4's not all but think thats due to the spec of the wildfire. i stream from ubuntu server with generic profile
