Re: Serviio video/audio transcoding on QNAP TS-119P II?

LG dont support transcoding as it states in the profile, so not alot we can do.

<!-- Transcoding doesn't seem to work and some files can be played natively: -->

what your doing with that profile, is remuxing the DTS audio to mp3, but as you found out the LG doesnt like this much eaither so your only option is to manualy convert all your files to a format the LG can then play natively

Yes, LG doesn't like DTS, although remuxed mp3 as a result sounds OK. I really doubt it's LG TV daily in frequent "loading". Looks like Qnap I'd out of power to make on the fly remuxing and possible way is to increase buffering time or maybe to remux audio into different format?

Re: Serviio video/audio transcoding on QNAP TS-119P II?

Hey guys, I solved my problem with applying the following remuxing

<Transcoding>
<!-- Remux AC3/DCA in MKV to MP3 -->
<Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetACodec="ac3">
<Matches container="matroska" aCodec="dca" />
</Video>
</Transcoding>

Now everything is fine, there is video/sound and they are not breaking up.

The issue, that is probably annoying each and every transcoded files - impossibility to rewind or fastly change timeline position (on TV) while file is played thru DLNA.
If there is some solution for that - please show me the corresponding topic.

And second thing I'd like to clarify - is it possible to reload serviio process on QNAP so that I wouldn't restart NAS each time I change transcoding profile?
serviio.sh -start or -stop does not seem to work. Or should it be executed not from root account?

Thanks!

I wouldn't say it's a feature, because in some files it really allows to 'jump' to different time in timeline.
So it depends on file format somehow.
Obviously in case of transcoding/remuxing of movie, it becomes unavailable to FF/RW.
