I keep getting “Cannot Access the Server” message
I keep getting “Cannot Access the Server” message
I have Serviio V.0.6.2 installed and has been operating quite normally until a few days ago. I am now getting the “Cannot Access the Server” message and in some case it asks me to perform a check on the server settings.
The equipment I have is
Sony Bravia KDL-40EX503 television
Sony BDVL600 – Blue Ray DVD player – 2.1 home cinema system
Virgin Media Tivo box
When I look at the Serviio Console on my computer under the Status Tab, it appears to have found the following
192.168.0.100/Unrecognized device/ Profile Sony Bravia TV (2010)[I set this tv assuming that was correct thing to do]
192.168.0.102 /Unrecognized device/ Profile Sony Bravia TV (2010)[I set this tv assuming that was correct thing to do]
192.168.0.104 / Sony BD Player SMP / Profile Sony BD Player SMP
Each of these devices has an amber disc at the beginning of each line, although the Sony DVD player does occasionally have a green light.
I have put my films/movies into a folder which I have called Servio Feeds and it is entered into the library and shows c:\Servio Feeds
I have a pair of Netgear Powerline AV+ 200 adaptors – 1 is upstairs connected near my computer and the other downstairs next to my TV
I also have a 5 port Netgear Router 10/100Mbs switch FS605 v3
A connection from the Tivo box to this Netgear FS605 router
A connection from the Netgear FS605 to the Powerline adaptor
A connection from the Netgear FS605 to the Sony DVD Player
A connection from the Netgear FS605 to the Sony TV KDL-40EX503.
If I look at at the Serviio directly from the TV bar it reports that it cannot access the server and if I look at Serviio by firstly going via the Home Cinema system then the film sometimes starts then freezes after about 30 seconds
The only new thing I have started on the computer over the last week has been the iCloud software to allow streaming of Diary, pictures and contact list to my new iPhone, but I can’t think this would affect my Serviio settings.(or maybe it does)
I hope I have included all of the relevant information needed to diagnose my problem and would appreciate your help in setting this up properly please if I haven’t already done so.
Go gentle with me please, I am not technical and may not understand some of the jargon used
