My note was meant for castalla who owns this thread. You are the one who hijacked it with your fast forward post which belongs elsewhere. i suggest you remove them.
Re: Stream to Android
Actually it is my thread, i started it, as you can see on the first page of this thread.
My fast forward, seek post was only a follow up when i installed your profile, as you suggested on the first page of this thread (thank you for this)
So i am a bit unsure why i should remove my post from my thread...

Hijacker here!
I meant android 4.1 - not using the profile.
I'll post a log next time I use the system.

Re: Stream to Android
For some reason seeking works now, audio stays mute tho when streaming mkv with ac3 audio using the android/bubblepnp profile

I do apologize to you. I don't have an answer to your seek question. For sure online streams do not seek and most flv files will not seek, and transcoding seems to prevent jumps. I can seek original mkv file which is not transcoded. Same with avi but have to wait.
As to audio I am getting breakup and 5 sec on off and avsync problems using MXplayer. I have traced this down to my device being unable to handle the original data rate and resolution, so I have created an AndroidMed profile which transcodes everything to mpeg2 with maxHeight=480 which will be available with Serviio V1.0. Doing so however disables the seek.

@castalla
I'm not interested in a log, only if your device (which you still have not stated) works correctly with the profile.

Re: Stream to Android
@jhb50
i think, and i may be wrong here, the problem is that my transformer can not hw decrypt AC3, which is in my mkvs.
Dice player, wich does sw audio decrypt, hw video decrypt, plays the video but very choppy, therefor unwatchable.
i dont have on/off i have just a mute stream due to, which i think is unsupported audio (by android)
so my question is
how can i tell serviio to transcode the audio stream of my mkv files to something not AC3, something android(Tegra2) can HW decode?
AAC, mp3, not sure what Tegra2 can decode
greetings

Re: Stream to Android
Sorry .... a bit muddled by all this!
I'll apply the profile and give it a try - for what it's worth, it's a 7-inch I-Joy Titan - some generic rebranded cheapo!
Additionally, I'm using VLC to play the files. MXvideo didn't handle the codec.
Will report back tomorrow.

Re: Stream to Android
Profile needs more work. I note that ServiiGo transcodes to mp3 so perhaps that would be better than AC3. I'm working on it.
Re: Stream to Android
i think aac is supported as well, if you need someone to test, or if you want to be provided with video files that wont work,, just say so
Re: Stream to Android
Quick feedback - the profile works okay with my Titan - I only tested an mp4 file.
I think it throws up an extra step in the play process - choose a renderer - then it gives the android player list. With the generic profile, I don't see this renderer choice (I think), just the android player list. I'll check this again with the standard profile.

Re: Stream to Android
I would be interested in your feedback of using ServiiGo with different file types and video players now that Serviio 1.0 is out. I don't really have a great idea of what works with which devices yet, so would like lots of feedback so that I can get any profile changes as needed into the next version of serviio.

Re: Stream to Android
moboplayer, 300mbit wlan, 720p x264/ac3 mkv
video codec is at least hw decoded, thats not the issue.

Re: Stream to Android
Which profile are we supposed to use with Android?
Re: Stream to Android
The generic one works fine to play everything if your device can handle the bitrates and resolution of the videos you play. I also created and posted an android profile that seems to work fine at viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6558
Re: Stream to Android
No it does not, as i said in my first post, audio stays mute, since the tegra 2 chipset does not hw decode ac3, and moboplayer/mx player can either decode audio+vid hw or sw not a mix of it, so no, generic profile does not play everything.
Re: Stream to Android
What audio does the chipset plays with HW decoding? mp3?
