pro version ?'s

So if I understand this correctly the new "FREE" version does not stream anything from the internet anymore ????

API for accessing content over the Internet free No Pro Yes

Media browser cool but I will never use it :(

Personally 0.62 does what I want and I can live with that stupid update message for the rest of my life and aside from 2 announced extra features and being able to keep streaming internet feeds which I can do now anyways I see no reason to update so I'll probably only make a donation for the effort and just keep using what works for me ;)

If it ain't broke why should I replace it ?

Re: pro version ?'s

No, the free version of 1.0 does not take any features away from 0.6.2, you can still stream online sources, it additionally has play list support and lots of under the hood improvements eg faster adding of content plus a lot more.

What the Pro version gives you is the API for accessing content remotely from your home, which then let's you use MediaBrowser, or my Android app ServiiGo, or in the future hopefully more apps. It also let's you restrict content from certain devices, useful if you have kids.

Re: pro version ?'s

Ok thanks for explaining that ;) well fortunately I have no need for pro then as I will never have need or use for any of the pro features.

I will donate and hopefully that is still possible even after the release of a "retail" version :)

Re: pro version ?'s

I recently just installed Serviio for the 1st time, it's free version 1.01 (i think). I am able to access my content from my android on 3g/4g using the web browser or the serviigo app. Aren't these Pro features? Does the free version install as a trial version of the pro version?

Re: pro version ?'s

Nevermind, I just saw the note on the download page. Am I correct to understand that after the 15 day trial I will NOT be able to access my media over 3g/4g? Will previous versions allow this on the free version?

Re: pro version ?'s

When you install Serviio you get a free 15 day evaluation of the Pro version, after that it goes back to the free version.

Accessing content over 3g/4g was a new feature in 1.0 that wasn't available previously, so yes you would need to purchase a pro license to continue to use the web browser based MediaBrowser or my ServiiGo app.
