Viera GT Series 'Server not Found'

My problem is that the server recently stopped working after upgrading my iMac to Mountain Lion. My router sees the TV IP and the TV connects to the wireless network but when I launch DLNA momentarily the Serviio icon appears then is gone, and I get the 'Server not found' message.

I'm running Mountain Lion OS 10.8.2 and using Serviio 1.0.1.

Re: Viera GT Series 'Server not Found'

I had this exact same issue today on my GT30/Lion sever. Serviio was also "seeing" the OS X server as a DLNA client!!

What I did was quit the Lion server and VPN that was running and restart Serviio and then it was OK!

Seems like the other services were confusing Serviio.

Cheers,

BB

Re: Viera GT Series 'Server not Found'

It seems my router dynamically changes the IP of the Viera and the server (Serviio) then loses connction, even while I'm watching something. The video stops, says wait one moment, then says 'cannot read file'. The check the IP of the TV and it has changed. I didn't have this issue before upgrafing my OS to Mountain Lion.

Scratching head....

Re: Viera GT Series 'Server not Found'

Having DHCP enabled for the server will not be reliable as it's IP will keep changing and it'll confuse Serviio (or any other server service)!

Give your server a fixed IP address and bind it to Serviio if necessary.

Re: Viera GT Series 'Server not Found'

Thanks BB...

I will do that...but it is strange that it was always DHCP and it was never a problem before?

Re: Viera GT Series 'Server not Found'

The Serviio server still disappears after awhile.
