Local Folder Not Showing Playlists.

No matter what I do I can't get a local folder to show a playlist. I can get the virtual folder to show them. It will show the portable playlists that are in the folders with their respective music files. However, any playlist that I create and place in a self-created local folder will not show up. When I refresh the library Serviio DOES find the files and adds them to the library. I have tried several playlist styles including .m3u, .m3u8, and .wpl. The playlist are properly created with absolute paths and work fine on my pc. What do I have to do to get them to show up in my local folder on my tv? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Still can't get the playlists to show up. I've tried changing permissions as I saw someone else had luck with that on but it didn't make a difference. Anyone know what I can do?
Re: Local Folder Not Showing Playlists.
what do you mean local folder? All the playlists are only accessible through the Playlists category

I thought I could create my own folder and put my playlists in it.

You can create a folder on your pc called playlists. In that folder you can create seperate folders for each of the playlists you want to create. Put your music files in each respective playlist folder. In Serviio under Lirary select Shared folders and click add local. Navigate to the playlist folder and select it and click open and Serviio will return to the main library. Make sure to put a tick in the Music box (2nd from right) then click Save. Let Serviio refresh and then when you open Serviio on your TV make sure to select Music. when Serviio opens on your TV select folders and navigate to the Playlist folder you created. When you open it you should see all your individual playlist folders, open one and you should see all the music files for that playlist. If the folders show but they are empty then there is a problem at the pc end. In my case when it happend to me the root folder holding my video files had a padlock icon on it and this was the problem. I read that the padlock icon can mean you do not have ownership of that folder but in my case I did. What I done was this:-
Right click the folder with the padlock overlay, click Properties
Click the Security tab
Click Advanced
Click Change Permissions
Check Both boxes to Include inheritable permissions, and to Replace all child object permissions
Click Apply then click Yes
Wait for the list to refresh
That fixed it for me, as soon as I did that the padlock went and the files showed up in their folders in Serviio. make sure that the hard drive, or any of the folders in the path to your Playlist folder does not have a padlock icon on it. If it does that is the problem.

Wow, cool. Thanks for your help. I will try all that. Sounds like a sure fire plan. Again, thanks for taking the time to let me know what worked for you
