Subtitles on a samsung UA46ES5600

I have ripped some DVDs to mkv using MakeMKV. When i play the files using VLC player i see subtitles. When i stream to serviio there are no subtitles. In the console i have enabled subtitles in the console including burning in subtitles. I have remuxing the files using MKVmerge. MKVmerge reports that there is a VOB subtitle file and i set the flag to always display the subtitles, but still no go. Am i missing something here? I am using serviio 1.3.1 and had the same problem with version 1.2.1.

Bitmap-based (ie VOB) subtitles are not supported by Serviio, and AFAIK neither natively by the TV. You'd have to embed the subtitles as SRT or ASS.
