Disconnect problem: potential solution....

Install Samsung Link.

I had to uninstal Samsung allshare from my pc a number of months ago as it was crippling it. Disconnect problems with serviio crept in over the following number of weeks until it's been basically unusable for the last month.

Tonight I installed the updated allshare software, Samsung link, and now it is perfect. Watching hd files through serviio flawlessly.

It must install drivers or something to make file sharing work properly.

Tele is 37es6300.

Hope this helps at least one other person :)

Re: Disconnect problem: potential solution....

Before I fixed it, disconnects happened after 2 to 3 minute of playing anything.

Last night I watched a 720p episode of a US show, 1gb file and it played it flawlessly for the 40odd minutes, so it seems fine now. Also tried a 4gb concert video, played fine for 10 mins then had to go to bed so turned it off. This is all over wifi, and a weak enough signal too.

I wonder is it a common theme for Samsung users who have the disconnect error, i.e. that Samsung allshare/link isn't installed on the PC?

Re: Disconnect problem: potential solution....

it has nothing withh Samsung's Allshare. I tried to install it, also Samsung Link but that has NO IMPACT on Serviio. so, uninstalled it.
make this test:
find some short music videos (some 2-3 minutes long) and check exactly how long is (on PC), and then serve it using Serviio (be sure Serviio transcode it!) and check if it is played on TV till end or stops before....

Solution is to not transcode it, for youtube music clips try my modified profile, search my last posts on forum...
