Unable to view serviio at different location

Hi have tried searching for a solution but so far been unsuccessful, not quite sure what to search for is probably more the problem.

I have been running serviio on my laptop for quite a while now and am very happy with it apart from one problem.

If I install it at my at my house it works great and I can connect using my Panasonic TV, but when I go to my girlfriends her Sony TV does not see the server running.

When I check serviio console the status says running and I can see a green dot next to the Sony TV, The only way i have managed to get the tv to see the server is by reinstalling serviio..

Then when I go back to my house its the same my TV doesn't see the server although the console says running and my TV has a green dot next t it. So yet again I have to reinstall.

Does anyone know how to fix so that i am not constantly having to reinstall ?

Re: Unable to view serviio at different location

Just a guess, but are you shutting down the laptop between the two homes? The IP address on one network may not work on the other, and Serviio my be looking for (and trying to provide its service on) the IP address from the first home.

Re: Unable to view serviio at different location

When you look at the Serviio console on your laptop, does the Network Settings box show "automatically detected" or is your IP address shown? If automatic is not selected, that is likely your issue. It is unlikely you have the same IP address at both locations. Check it each time you start Serviio to make sure it is set correctly.

Re: Unable to view serviio at different location

A few questions:
Can you please post a detailed log showing Serviio trying to connect at the new location.
Do you fully shutdown your laptop between locations or put it to sleep (eg just close the lid)?
What version are you using - 1.3.1 has better recovery than previous versions
What is the IP address ranges at both locations?
